DAILY ASTROLOGY IN FILM: MAY 28-30

MOON IN PISCES from 5:06pm EDT on Saturday May 28th until 7:10pm EDT on Monday May 30th. Ruled by Neptune, this Mutable Water Moon is a time to enter the Dream Time - Costaneda's liminal space between parallel lines where the mystery of Imagination, Art and Magic happens. It reflects the unknowable Divine that is The Creative. The line between reality and illusion is very thin for Neptune as its drive is the unity of all things - the urge to merge. All is One and One is All. Clarity and even Truth may not be available to us now. Don't get caught in a Piscean deception. Don't try to be logical or practical. This is the time for going to the Sea, going deeply into Beauty by making Art, Music and even Acting! Connect with the Divine in what ever form calls to you.

LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Mars in Scorpio at 7:10pm EDT on Monday May 30th. Elusive Neptune gets support for producing results with a Trine to Mars, a harmonious 120 degree angle to the willful action-oriented planet. Actions initiated during this time will tend to have a GOOD resolution. If yesterday's square to Mars challenged us to identify our true Self, this Trine offers an opportunity to follow our imagination into the recesses of our psyches to discover it. The Trine reflects an ease of access and we would do well to take advantage of it. Mars is now retrograding back into the last degrees of Scorpio, the water sign reflecting the urge to go deep into our emotional selves to find our passion. (Pay attention that Mars' creative Willpower doesn't become ego-centered willfullness in Scorpio.) Through film, photography, painting, dancing, acting, making music - any Neptunian Art form to which you are drawn - allow yourself to be moved.  This feeling of being moved, of intuiting that Beauty is Love, is to know that who you truly are is one with the Divine.

The Moon's current bigger picture is a planetary aspect pattern called a Mutable Grand Cross - four squares or two oppositions. The Sun and Venus are in Gemini, squaring the Pisces Moon; Now-direct Jupiter in Virgo opposes the Moon; Saturn in Sagittarius is opposite the Sun and Venus forming another square to the Moon. Also, the Moon will conjunct its current ruling planet Neptune as well as Chiron as it journeys through Pisces. This is a loaded Moon period! All these signs are Mutable - indicating a range from flexibility to unreliability. This formation reflects an enormous amount of tension in need of resolution - both inside us and in outer life events. We may find our energies scattered in many directions, not accomplishing anything. (Knowing the houses in your birthchart in which these four points of the Grand Cross reside, is to know the areas of life where your energies are being dispersed.) Instead, find the heart of the matter, that which drives all your desire, the center of the cross. Act from this place and you'll use this energy well. Find your expression of Pisces Moon Trine Mars and identify yourSelf through your Heart's Desire!

SCENE FOR THE DAY: FRIDA, 2002; Director: Julie Taymor. In this early scene from the film, young Frida Kahlo (Salma Hayak) asks legendary Mexican painter Diego Rivera (Alfred Molina) if she is a true painter. She is seeking her identity as Artist and finds confirmation through him. She accesses the Martian Willpower to make her unusually personal and passionate Art, even after a trolley car accident leaves her body debilitated and in excruciating pain. In fact she uses her dramatic circumstance to develop her Will. Taymor, the amazingly creative Broadway director of the Lion King - among so many other lauded productions - creates a film which is boldly beautiful in its color, animation, music and acting. A true credit to Neptune!
