MOON IN SAGITTARIUS from 2:48pm EDT on Saturday May 21st until 11:37am EDT Monday May 23rd. The Moon remains VOID OF COURSE through the remainder of Monday the 23rd. Ruled by Jupiter, the planet reflecting Growth, Abundance and Seeking
Meaning, this moon period is expansive in many ways. We tend to feel
Optimistic and have Faith in people and circumstances. Sagittarius is a
Mutable Fire sign which indicates a time of Enthusiastic Long-Distance
Adventure mostly for the higher purpose of finding Wisdom and Meaning in
Life. Sag will go wherever his inspiration leads him and, though he may
change locations, his journey will be focused on finding a unified
philosophical or spiritual Truth. This can take the form of either a
traditional religion or a more independent belief system. (See Thomas
Moore's A Religion of One's Own) The shift from Scorpio to
Sagittarius is like rocketing from the depths and seriousness of the
underworld to the heights and celestial lights of heaven.
LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Uranus at 11:37am EDT on Monday May 23rd. This
is likely to reflect an exciting and meaningful time. Wisdom is sought
and found. An adventurous undertaking may be planned and if initiated after the three-day waiting period after Mercury goes direct on the 22nd
(so after the 25th) - especially if you wait for a GREAT
astrological day - will tend to have an EXCELLENT result. As Uranus
rules Astrology, this would be an advantageous time to schedule a
reading! Uranus also rules innovative science and technology so projects
on the computer are likely to be highly successful. A surprising
communication via email etc. may come your way. This may also be a time
of a sudden profound understanding or beneficial wake-up call. Do note that the Moon will conjoin both Mars and Saturn respectively in its journey through Sagittarius these few days, bringing more tension and restraint to the mix Saturday night and Sunday. This should begin to release after 6:20pm EDT.
SCENE FOR THE DAY: ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, 2007; Director: Shekhar Kapur. Queen
Elizabeth I consults her Astrologer, the famous Dr. John Dee, as war
with Spain becomes imminent. This is one of the most powerful scenes in
cinema to me, especially for this blog. It is rare to witness a respectful perspective of astrology in film. This awesome moment
captures the classic astrological relationship between royalty and
celestial advisor at an historic moment. Dee called himself "The Queen's Philosopher" and his advice here serves the Queen
profoundly. His dialogue goes straight to the heart of the astrological matter
when he describes what Richard Tarnas refers to as the multivalent,
or many valued, aspect of planetary archetypes. Dr Dee: "The forces
that shape our world are greater than all of us Majesty. How can I
promise that they'll conspire in your favor, even though you are the
Queen. Though, this much I know: When the storm breaks, each man acts in
accordance with his own nature..." Elizabeth has an ah-ha moment!
