AUGUST 21-23: VERY GOOD VIRGO MOON

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 4:25pm EDT on Monday, August 21 and remains here until Wednesday, August 23 at 4:02pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Venus in Cancer. Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Earth sign indicates a period when we tend to have an analytical perspective which can range from being productively discerning or annoyingly nit-picky. Our drive for perfection can have our critical eye work for us or against us. With this harmonious Last Aspect, we're lookin' good! Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have VERY GOOD resolutions. But there's more to this symbolism of our particularly Venusian Virgo Moon! Let's look more closely...
VIRGO AS MEDICINE MAIDEN
This Virgo Moon follows on the heels of the Leo New Moon Solar Eclipse, when the Moon and the Sun were both in the Sun-ruled sign of Leo. Virgo is one of the two major signs reflecting The Feminine Archetype; Cancer, the Moon's natural ruler, is the other. With the current Last Aspect Sextile Venus in Cancer, this Virgo Moon is abundantly ripe with expressions of The Feminine. So the Moon moves from the very Masculine archetype of Leo, King of the Castle, to Virgo, Healer-Priestess-Maiden. Before we delve into Virgo's symbolism, let me set the bigger context:

The Regulus Shift: A Paradigm Shift
We've been focusing on the Royal Regulus point of this Solar Eclipse, metaphorically magnifying its  power, both at 29 Leo (or minutes before). However, as the world turns, in 2011-2012 Regulus moved from Leo - where it has resided for some 4,000 years - into Virgo. The symbolic meaning of this transition is a power shift from The Masculine Archetype of Leo to The Feminine Archetype of Virgo. In other words, what power begins to look like is reflective of the Virgonian archetype. Or we could say Virgo's quality of power is what works now. This month's Moon movement into Virgo feels charged with mirroring Regulus' relatively recent shift. And the very positive Last Aspect of Moon Sextile Venus in Cancer is indeed affirming for successful outcomes! The Libra Moon, which follows Virgo in a few days, can remind us that the ultimate goal is Balance and Equality - or conjunctio, the alchemical Sacred Marriage of The Masculine and The Feminine archetypes.

Virgo's Archetype:
Virgo is associated with the feminine Maiden - the pure, innocent and vestal virgin, keeper of the sacred hearth fire. There is the true humility of service available to Virgo that most other signs don't access. Virgo also reflects the mother/daughter theme which carries a deeper feminine wisdom expanding into generations of women as in the Demeter/Persephone myth. Here we see a maturation process over time to the sensuous life-giving Feminine. She is a part of embodied Mother Nature whose orderly rhythm is in her being. Virgo's drive towards order is one of her most evident traits - as indicated through her attention to cleanliness, nourishment and health. She is the medicine woman who with her wisdom helps keep our bodies and environments as close to perfect balance as possible. Mercury's influence shows up in Virgo's attention to intelligent precise language. This is the ultimate writer, speaker, teacher. Her focus is on the details and she can get lost there and become overly critical and judgemental - if she doesn't occasionally pick her head up from the written page to be reminded of Pisces' (Virgo's opposite) bigger picture.
If we think of the 6th House, which is under Virgo's natural rulership, we also bring to mind the importance of daily work and the integrity with which we hold it. Our attention to details in this arena keeps us present and mindful of moment to moment choices. Virgo's 6th House also highlights the small animals which inhabit our daily lives and require our care. Finally, the 6th House is a space for the integration of the first six houses of the horoscope, the more personal hemisphere, before we step out to participate on the larger world stage.

It is, perhaps, with the optimum expression of Virgo that we are likely to see success in our personal and collective lives. Let her inspire us to hold her best qualities dear and act accordingly in the world.

Total Solar Eclipse Political Last Thoughts:
Ancient mythology associates omen-ous circumstances with Eclipses - especially for Kings and Royalty in general. Death, a lost battle or some other fall from power and grace were feared. We've talked about the current connection to Regulus heightening the myth of regal power, leadership and courage. But there is an esoteric condition which must be met for success: that this power be used for the greater good and the ruler has an evolved sense of morality, integrity and intelligence.
Most of you reading this know by now that Trumpty Dumpty has his Ascendant or Rising Sign at this exact point. This was a strong indicator for his success in the presidential election and signified his rise to power, success and fame.
With natal Mars conjoining his strong Leo Ascendant, his Sun in Gemini conjoining his North Node and Uranus opposing his Moon in Sagittarius - all Masculine signs - he dramatically reflects the Masculine Archetype...in the most bravado, self-aggrandizing, loose cannon, wired, detached and least optimum kind of way. (Yes, he does have three planets in Cancer, but they are challenged by significant hard aspects: Saturn in Cancer tightly conjuncts his Venus and Neptune closely squares his Mercury.) Not only has his Regulus lost it's support, his morality has revealed itself and it does not fulfill the esoteric requirements for lasting success. Humpty Dumpty's wall is crumbling.

VIRGO SCENE FOR THE DAY: Elizabeth: The Golden Age, 2007; Director: Shekhar Kapur. The shift from Leo authority to Virgo's Feminine power can most dramatically be witnessed by the transformation of Queen Elizabeth I to the Virgin Queen. The visuals in this scene say everything - but the one line delivered does indeed execute the exclamation point! Cate Blanchett embodies this legendary character completely and we are awed by her. True power requires Virgo's humility, sacrifice and a relationship with the divine - qualities of which our caricature of a leader is devoid.

JUNE 18-20: CHALLENGING VIRGO MOON

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 4:40am EDT on Monday, June 18 and remains here until Wednesday, June 20 at 6:51am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Sun in Gemini. Persephone comes to mind once again in these last few days of Spring - before Summer Solstice on Thursday, June 21. The virgin purity of the Feminine archetype may be tested as it is squared against the Solar Masculine archetype. An innocent emotional response may be challenged by hard-core reason and experience. It will be our choice how to negotiate or value the two perspectives of reality. More simply, this may just be our last Virgo-supported time for spring cleaning! Our drive for perfection in some planned-to-a-tee situation may be thwarted by a communication from another. Both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury, so the Trickster Archetype is likely to be in play big time. Things may not be as they seem. Remember Virgo's nit-picky nature can sometimes be overly critical - of ourselves and others. Try to see the bigger picture and not get caught up in the small stuff. Be conscientious about not gossiping or not being fully accurate in your statements. Virgo should reflect attention to those slippery details, but Gemini moves so fast that we might not take the time to double check our information. Writers may take advantage of this time but be dissatisfied with their end result. Virgo also reflects health and diet and, with the Square to the Sun, we might not necessarily make the wisest choices for ourselves. Virgo's pretty good about moderation so let's go with that! In general, actions along these themes tend to have Challenging Resolutions.
NOTE: Neptune Goes Retrograde on Monday at 16º Pisces and remains here until November 24 at 13º Pisces. Today Neptune joins Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in retrograde motion (their orbits appear to be going backwards as viewed from Earth). Interestingly, this occurs as the Virgo Moon is Opposite Neptune in Pisces now...The Great Dissolver and Master of Illusion, Neptune, is likely to reflect a time when we re-visit our beliefs and discover what's true and what's not. Best to hold off on any major decisions until you get clear. Making Art, engaging in meditation and other spiritual practices are likely to be deeply revealing for us now. Also, try to keep a journal by your bed to keep a record of your dreams. The symbolic life should be particularly rich and full of meaning. More than ever double check your understanding of the facts you gather and be willing to go with the flow. Neptune rules Cinema so take advantage of this season's strong new releases - and let the images take you on an inner magic carpet ride! Try this one:

VIRGO FILM FOR THE DAY: The Virgin Spring, Swedish 1960; Director: Ingmar Bergman. Persephone’s myth of abduction and rape becomes a religious morality tale through Bergman’s cinematic eye and strict Lutheran heritage. Here the master filmmaker-philosopher offers a profound visual parable about Good, Evil and the question of God's will. Shot in black and white (of course) we see Torë's (Max von Sydow) pampered, radiant, princess-like virgin daughter Karin (Birgitta
Petterson) reluctantly doing her father's bidding. She is instructed to journey through the forest to take candles to the church but will only obey if she can wear her Sunday finest attire. Accompanied by a jealous witchy servant (Gunnel Lindblom) the only part of the maiden that returns home is one of her blood-stained garments. Her father wreaks retribution on her attackers and while he cries to his God that he doesn't understand how He could watch and let such a thing happen, he asks forgiveness for his own violent revenge.
This very realistically photographed film (Sven Nykvist) resolves with a rather surprising symbolic moment of magical imagery - perhaps to be taken as a sign from God that Torë's violent sin is forgiven and life can eventually go on. There's little moderation in a Bergman film - but the advice to remember the moral bigger picture is clearly part of his Virgonian message. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1960, this Bergman classic is considered one of the most important works in his body of innovative work. DAILY ASTROLOGY IN FILM: APRIL 16-18

MOON IN VIRGO. Enters at 7:23pm on 4/16 until 8:29am on 4/18. (Moon is Void of Course from 1:48pm to 7:23pm having been in Leo until 1:48pm...see previous post!) Moon in Virgo, ruled by Mercury is becoming one of my favorite times. As you'll see in the film clip, you can get so much work accomplished now! Virgo's archetype is a complex one, most often associated with the feminine Maiden - pure, innocent and vestal virgin, keeper of the sacred hearth fire- as in the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I (herself a Virgo). There is the true humility of service available to Virgo that most other signs don't access. Yet Virgo also reflects the mother/daughter theme which carries a deeper feminine wisdom expanding into generations of women as in the Demeter/Persephone myth. Here in this Mutable Earth sign we see a maturation process over time to the sensuous life-giving feminine. She is a part of embodied Mother Nature whose orderly rhythm is in her being. Virgo's drive towards order, cleanliness and health products that help keep our bodies and environments as close to perfection as possible is one of her most evident traits. Yet in this striving for perfection, she can be overly critical and judgmental when she's not as conscious as she would prefer. Mercury's influence shows up in Virgo's attention to precise language. This is the ultimate writer, speaker, teacher. Her focus is on the details and she can get lost there if she doesn't pick her head up occasionally from the written page to be reminded of the Piscean (Virgo's opposite) bigger picture (see Post 3/23: Hidden Opportunitiy in Oppositions).

LAST ASPECT OF THE MOON: Moon Trine Mercury at 8:29am EDT. It doesn't get any better than this for support from mental Mercury! Writers are on alert to use this time to let the ink flow! Brain synapses should be firing on all cylinders now. This is an EXCELLENT time to use your mind in any capacity - be the Messenger of the gods! With wings on his feet, Mercury can set you on productive travels while the Moon is in Virgo this month. Artists with a flair for crafts can use this time to begin new projects. Mostly...'tis the season - it's the best time for SPRING CLEANING!! Notice the difference in quality between yesterday's playful firey Leo and today's reserved earthy Virgo.

SCENE FOR THE DAY: LIMITLESS...AGAIN! I do love this film and this scene is one of the reasons. It's a Virgo's dream to have the energy and attention Bradley Cooper's character Eddie Morra has when he pops this brain enhancing pill. It's certainly mine! And I kid you not, I look forward now every month and take advantage of this time to do exactly what you witness here..and other Mercurial activities. Not only does he transform his apartment, but sits down at his typewriter and unblocks his stuck brain so that words and thoughts feel like they're falling from heaven onto his page...which he is typing a mile a minute. When the last aspect to a Virgo Moon is trine its ruler, Mercury...look what you can do!

DAILY ASTROLOGY IN FILM: AUG. 31 - SEPT. 2

MOON IS VOID OF COURSE on Wednesday August 31 until 11:22am EDT. (See APRIL 7 POST for more info on V/C Moons.)
MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 11:22am EDT and remains until Friday September 2 at 6:13pm EDT. Ruled by Mercury this Mutable Earth sign reflects the drive for Order and Perfection. It rules Critical Thinking, Attention to Detail, Purity, Intelligence, The Writer, Speaker, Health, Diet and Daily Work. It also carries the myth of the Vestal Virgin who is in Service to keep the fires of the sacred temple burning. Her emotions tend to be filtered through her mind; she often over-analyzes her feelings before she communicates them. We may find people to be more critical than usual now, as Virgo's need for precision and clarity is present. Use this time well by cleaning your environment, ordering your life and discerning the chaff from the wheat (or the illusion from the real substance)...as much as is possible during Mercury's Retrograde.
SEE JUNE 10-12 POST for detailed description on Virgo.
LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Conjunct Jupiter in Virgo at 6:13pm EDT on Friday September 2. Anytime Jupiter aspects the Moon, this reflects situations or emotions which will be augmented, have profound meaning or be generally Auspicious. Actions initiated during this period will tend to have VERY GOOD results. Again, this would have an EXCELLENT evaluation if Mercury was not turning Retrograde. Be very careful you don't overdo or over-express yourself! Be especially aware of being overly critical and demanding perfection from others and yourself. This would be a GREAT time to edit written work - going back over and correcting or adjusting your words, making them clear and precise.

SCENES OF THE DAY: Howl, 2010; Directors/Writers: Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. This is a remarkably creative film about the 1957 obscenity case against Allen Ginsberg's poem, Howl. The legendary piece of writing became a statement for the Beat generation, the precursor to the '60's cultural revolution. These clips demonstrate the medium of poetry as a discernment of words. In the courtroom clip, these words are analyzed to the max (Virgo Moon Conjunct Jupiter in Virgo) by a Prosecuting Attorney bent on judging them obscene. But their Purity of Heart and Search for the Sacred scream louder than their apparent sexual offense to the conservative critic. The Virgonian detail work in the animation clip is just a sight to behold. The movie features an amazing cast which includes: James Franco as Allen Ginsberg, David Strathairn as Prosecuting Attorney, Jon Hamm as Defense Attorney and Alessandro Nivola as the Literary Critic on the stand.
NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE at 9 degrees Virgo on September 1 at 5:03am EDT. (Not visible from North America) This is a VIRGO-FEST! And a potent time! Stay on your toes. This New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo creates a Mutable T-Square from the ongoing Square between Saturn (now conjunct Mars) in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces. (Neptune is Opposite the Sun/Moon in Virgo and both ends of the opposition form Squares to Mars/Saturn in Sagittarius.) This is an unstable formation, looking for its stability from the missing Mutable sign of Gemini. (Really?) All this mutability in an unsteady T-Square which involves a Solar Eclipse feels like anything can happen. There's a lot of tension which requires resolution. Notice that the midpoint of the Saturn/Mars conjunction (the focal point of the T-Square ) is the 12 degree Sagittarius of the US Ascendant (Sibly Chart). On 9/11, Pluto was on this point at the US Ascendant while Saturn was opposite at 12 Gemini. That the North Node is at 12 Virgo conjoining the New Moon Solar Eclipse just adds to the feeling that this moment in time is...loaded.  In any case, the New Moon reflects the beginning of a New Cycle, a new chapter. Let's use our collective Virgo discerning nature to see clearly into whatever is before us and draw on Gemini's ability both to see all perspectives before we act and his levity to lighten ourselves up.

DAILY ASTROLOGY IN FILM: JUNE 10-12

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 9:46am EDT on Friday June 10th after being VOID OF COURSE in the early morning. It stays in Virgo until 10:47am EDT on Sunday June 12th when it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of Sunday until 8:33pm EDT. The archetypal Vestal Virgin, keeper of the temple's sacred fire and her own chastity (sacred fire), is one of Virgo's classic associations. Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Earth sign reflects a certain sense of purity, perfection and service. While Virgo is known as the most truly humble persona of the zodiac, the drive for perfection in oneself and others may express itself in being overly critical or judgmental. Traditionally, Virgo is connected to health, diet, daily work and crafts - working with one's hands. Virgo is associated with the 6th House of the horoscope which, in Dane Rudyar's interpretation, is linked with integration. The last house in the bottom hemisphere of the chart, the 6th House is said to integrate all previous five of the personal houses - very generally: identity, security, mind, home/ family and creativity - (as opposed to the upper hemisphere addressing more social and collective areas of life). So perhaps we can expand the mythological image to include that a kind of Innocence (I Ching Hexagram 25: 'without guile') is key to integration of the psyche. This would be especially meaningful if we imagined the virgin/sacred sexual vessel ('sacred prostitute' or 'virgin/whore' - I can't find an expression I like) aspect of the archetype as incorporating her own opposite - the sacred marriage of opposites or the alchemical conjunctio. (Search March post "The Hidden Opportunity in Oppositions") In any case, this is a moon period for creating order in your life, cleaning, purifying, writing, teaching, speaking, and integrating. Paying attention to health issues, diet, rituals and routines all help us stay grounded and able to adapt to changing scenarios.

LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Mars in Scorpio at 10:47am EDT on Sunday June 12th. Prim and proper Virgo meets physically passionate Pluto in this aspect and has a GREAT time producing results! If you're still spring cleaning, you could add some renovation or refinishing projects at this time; Scorpio/Pluto likes to break down and renew - or go back and finish the job you started in early spring (Mars is still retrograde). If you're dealing with health issues, this time could turn things around and a process of rehabilitation/rejuvenation may become available now. If you're in need of expressing your deeply held feelings about something, that perhaps you've kept hidden, this may be the time to let it all out. If you're in love, perhaps this is the time to turn innocence or resistance into passionate expression!

SCENE OF THE DAY: LAUREL CANYON, 2002; Writer/Director: Lisa Cholodenko. A Sundance indie classic! Kate Beckinsale plays Alex, a reserved PhD candidate writing about the sex life of drosophila, married to Sam, an uptight medical student, played by Christian Bale when they move from academic Cambridge, MA to California's hip Laurel Canyon, LA, for his residency. There they unexpectedly encounter his record producing mother Jane, played by an outrageous Frances McDormand and her new rock 'n roll  boyfriend, played by Allesandro Nivoli - and the rest of the band, while they're finishing recording a record in her home studio. Feathers fly and pure and proper Alex finds her Mars in Scorpio! If you've ever spent time in Laurel Canyon you'll appreciate this film - and if you haven't, you'll want to! This wonderful film brings the caricatures of the east and west coast personas together and manages to work it all out...and even write one of the sweetest songs ever!

MAY 21-23: GOOD VIRGO MOON

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 10:03pm EDT on Monday, May 21 after a VOID OF COURSE DAY and remains in Virgo until Wednesday, May 23 at 10:55am when it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the day. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon  Trine Pluto in Capricorn. A VOID OF COURSE DAY is usually a time when things seem to be in limbo. Plans just don't gel. Let your expectations of 'business as usual' go. Instead, use the day for any creative act. Brainstorm ideas. This is about lingering in the unknown and letting the imagination loose. Follow the images that come through. It's often the pathway to where life wants to take you. Moving into the Virgo Moon makes me think it will be a good idea to take notes on your musings...

This is the next-to-the-last VIRGO MOON for literal Spring Cleaning support! We have one more Virgo Moon right before Summer Solstice on June 21. Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Earth sign reflects a time of striving for perfection on the material and analytical planes. When you feel the urge to organize and order everything in your environment, go with it! As Virgo is the Feminine sign of the Vestal Virgin, Keeper of the Sacred Hearth, invite some women to create order with you! Just remember the shadow side of Virgo - wanting, expecting, perhaps demanding others go with your flow. Both Virgo and Pluto have control issues, so the two together are likely to step into this complex, though the Trine suggests that some good would come of it!  Everyone has their own rhythm and priorities so conjure up some leniency and freedom as you hurricane through your closets, drawers and gardens! It is, as always, prime time for writers, speakers and researchers to do their nitty-gritty detail work. Pluto's presence suggests tapping resources that others might offer. It also symbolizes the ability to go deep, both in your cleaning and investigating. Psychological benefits are there in spades to harvest. Virgo also rules health - keeping the body in order. Pluto suggests that regeneration is a good possibility! In general, actions initiated during this Moon period are likely to have Good resolutions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf5S-1tJlg0
VIRGO FILM SCENE: Sunshine Cleaning, 2008; Director: Christine Jeffs. Amy Adams and Emily Blunt are sisters who open a crime cleaning business which turns out teaching them a thing or two about life. A Sundance favorite and nominated for its Grand Jury Prize, the film was a vehicle for both actresses to take on leading roles. Crime scenes often involve death (ruled by Pluto) so the movie lends itself to some great dark humor and being a perfect example of this Moon period! The last line of the trailer says it all! Both actresses have gone on to brilliant careers from this small indie film: Emily Blunt is compelling in The Young Victoria, The Devil Wears Prada, Salmon Fishing in Yemen and, most recently with husband John Krasinsky, A Quiet Place; Amy Adams went on to star in Julie and Julia, The Arrival and American Hustle - my favorite is her standout role in The Fighter. There's nothing quite like two sisters attempting to solve relationship issues, including the one with their deceased mother, while scrubbing blood spatter off a murder scene. Enjoy!

MARCH 28-30: EXCELLENT VIRGO MOON

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 10:30am EDT on Wednesday, March 28 after a VOID OF COURSE morning. It remains in Virgo until Friday, March 30 at 0:59am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Jupiter in Scorpio. Important practical actions initiated during the V/C period tend not to work out as planned. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or imagining future action. The Virgo Moon is ruled by Mercury. Given that Mercury is in Retrograde mode the most advantageous expression now would be a re-evaluation of past circumstances. Virgo's principle is concerned with creating Order and striving for a kind of Perfection. Its range of expression, from least to most optimum would be: from highly critical, judgmental and controlling to discerning, organizing, mentally/verbally skillful and attention to details. Your choice. The more conscious we are, the more useful Virgo will be. Her Archetype includes Health and Nutrition (keeping the body in order) and daily Work (being useful). She is the Vestal Virgin, Keeper of the Hearth, Harvest and Sacred Flame of the Temple. We might interpret this as having access now to healing medicine/foods and encouraging words. Re-consider your diet and day-to-day usefulness now. This may be an opportunity to find just the right word to transform a moment from confusion or anger to understanding and moving forward. The Sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio combined with the Retrograde Mercury also suggests great support for initiating action to attain a Regeneration of health. In general, actions initiated during this time are likely to have EXCELLENT resolutions. Remember to check and double check your information.
VIRGO SCENE: Seed: The Untold Story, 2016; Directors: Jon Betz and Taggart Siegel. Virgo, as Keeper of the Harvest, is honored by this award-winning documentary about endangered fruit, flower, grain and vegetable seeds. Maintaining the diversification of types of seeds has become a major global issue. Seed banks, where ancient and contemporary varieties are stored for the future, are considered invaluable and at risk. I saw this magnificent movie at our local Peterborough Community Theatre a few years ago and was immediately moved to begin saving seeds from my favorite veggies...the inestimable power of film. This is a 16 minute clip that will hopefully inspire you too!

APRIL 24-26: EXCELLENT VIRGO MOON

MOON REMAINS IN LEO until 2:39pm EDT on Tuesday, April 24 when it goes VOID OF COURSE. At 4:40pm the MOON ENTERS VIRGO where it remains until Thursday, April 26 at 5:49am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON IN VIRGO: Moon Trine Pluto in Capricorn. Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Earth sign reflects analytical intelligence, a drive towards order and perfection. She is the Vestal Virgin, Keeper of the Hearth and Harvest. Her least optimum expression is being overly critical and getting stuck in the small stuff without paying attention to the bigger picture. If you fall short of her concept of perfection, she'll be the first to let you know! However, if you utilize her strengths you will put the circumstances of your life and your material world in order! Use this time to identify and gather your Plutonic resources to clean and perhaps renovate your home...Perfect Spring Cleaning days! The optimum expression of Pluto is activating The Healer archetype - the ability to transform in the physical realm, strongly reflected in the Earth sign Capricorn. The Virgo Moon is also concerned with the health of our bodies. So this is a great time to check out your body's health and initiate a new dietary order for yourself. Actions initiated along these themes during this Moon period tend to have EXCELLENT results.

VIRGO FILM SCENE: Intouchables, 2011; Writers/Directors: Olivier Nakache, Éric Toledano.
François Cluzet as quadriplegic Philippe and Omar Sy as his unlikely companion. This film is one of the brightest lights of the healing genre that I can remember. Wealthy connoisseur of the arts Philippe, disregarding all concerns of those close to him, hires Driss, a cocky energetic guy off the street to assist him. Sometimes eccentricity and humor are better remedies than anything else! If you have never seen this film, feast your eyes on two big hearts who surprisingly help heal each other. Sy won the César Award, France's highest national awards, for Best Actor.
