APRIL 29-APRIL 30: EXCELLENT SCORPIO FULL MOON

MOON ENTERS SCORPIO at 3:11am EDT on Sunday, April 29 and remains here until Monday, April 30 at 10:56pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Mars in Capricorn. FULL MOON IS EXACT at 8:58pm on Sunday, April 29. Life, Death and Regeneration are Pluto-ruled Scorpio's key descriptors. This is raw - almost primordial - creative Power! The Full Moon period is a time for bringing projects to Completion. This is a strong Full Moon when we should have abundant energy and resources to get the job done. Mars in Capricorn has its nose to the grindstone with energy to produce whatever result are is needed. Given that Mars is also just separating from its conjunction to Pluto, it's a huge double whammy of intensity. There's a lot of ambition suggested here and Scorpio's resourcefulness will find the way through any resistance that presents itself. Just make sure your determination doesn't blind you to seeing what others around you also need. Scorpio's shadow can reflect a kind of ruthless use of power to get what one wants. The Full Moon is likely to heighten the emotional element of this Fixed Water sign so, again, breathe through the tension and remember that nothing is more important than your sense of what's right. In the end, acts of kindness and generosity are always worth more than personal gain. Remember Scorpio has at least three symbols as its range of expression (seven or eight are often suggested): The sting of the Scorpion, the visionary Eagle and the ultimate transformational image of the Phoenix. Anything seems possible now. Have yourself a old-fashioned metamorphosis!
SCORPIO FULL MOON SCENE: City of Angels, 1998; Director: Brad Silberling. Life, Death, Regeneration/Transformation perfectly describes the essence of this story. A being not of this physical world yearns to become human in order to experience the sensations and emotions we take for granted. Based on Wim Wenders' German classic Wings of Desire, this script is aptly transported to Los Angeles featuring a humble Nicholas Cage as angel Seth and Meg Ryan as Dr. Maggie Rice. While a pale adaptation of the original, which is one of my all-time-most-significant films, it is moving and captivating in its own Hollywood way. Seth's story can't help but put into perspective what it means to be human. With all its suffering, knowing life for the first time newly could be an experience of ecstasy. Isn't that what being 'present' is all about? It's certainly what good acting is about! In this clip we witness Seth taking the transformative fall to earth.

APRIL 26-29: CHALLENGING LIBRA MOON

MOON IS VOID OF COURSE from 5:49am EDT all day until 9:13pm on Thursday, April 26. MOON ENTERS LIBRA at 9:13pm and remains here until Sunday, April 29 at 1:32am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Opposite Uranus in Aries. Important practical actions are not likely to work out as planned during the V/C Moon period and it's probably best not to waste your time trying to make something happen. It's most propitious to use this time for inner creative work or imagining future actions. The Libra Moon is ruled by Venus and highlights Relationships, Beauty, Art and Equality/Justice. Libra reflects the state of seeing both sides of a situations, so can often be a good time for mediation. It can also devolve into ambivalence. Libra's strengths are being able to see where to compromise, how to negotiate and collaborate. With this Last Aspect that has repeatedly hindered Libra's optimum expression over the last year or so, many relationships have been struggling to find freedom and new or unusual ways of being. This is a collective dilemma. Use your Libran fairness and Uranian innovative intelligence to find your way through. Uranus also reflects the principal of Separation. Uranus opposite Venus-Ruled Libra Moon is a classic break-up indicator. If that's the only way to establish the space you need, perhaps you might try it to some degree - it doesn't have to be permanent, but it's likely to give you the objectivity to sort things out. Venus also rules money and Uranus might suggest some conflict in this arena. Creating an aesthetically pleasing environment will help bring peace to any conflicted situation. You don't have to spend a lot to have Beauty around you. Flowers always do it for me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsWlktW0kj4
LIBRA MOVIE SCENE: Whiplash, 2014; Writer/Director: Damien Chazelle. Miles Teller is Andrew, a driven drummer on a crash course to being 'one of the greats.' He enters into a brief relationship with ambivalent college student Nicole, played by Melissa Benoist. She's polar opposite to his clarity, having no clue what she wants to do with her life. It turns out, in this scene, that he's so committed to his musical path that he knows he won't have time for her. This is the harsh Uranian break-up scene. Andrew eventually learns a hard lesson from his psycho music teacher Fletcher, played by an earth-shattering JK Simmons. While the love relationship is not the major element of the film, its failure is symptomatic of the separating principle which is often invoked when the ego is hell-bent for fame. This is an amazing film for other reasons really. The relationship of note is between teacher and student...Uranus in Aries is a perfect description for it too: they are at war. The jazz improvisations lend themselves brilliantly to the emotions at hand. Interestingly, Chazelle went on to write and direct La La Land which is a more developed romance between a musician (Ryan Gosling) and actress (Emma Stone) but also ends in a Uranian separation.

APRIL 24-26: EXCELLENT VIRGO MOON

MOON REMAINS IN LEO until 2:39pm EDT on Tuesday, April 24 when it goes VOID OF COURSE. At 4:40pm the MOON ENTERS VIRGO where it remains until Thursday, April 26 at 5:49am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON IN VIRGO: Moon Trine Pluto in Capricorn. Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Earth sign reflects analytical intelligence, a drive towards order and perfection. She is the Vestal Virgin, Keeper of the Hearth and Harvest. Her least optimum expression is being overly critical and getting stuck in the small stuff without paying attention to the bigger picture. If you fall short of her concept of perfection, she'll be the first to let you know! However, if you utilize her strengths you will put the circumstances of your life and your material world in order! Use this time to identify and gather your Plutonic resources to clean and perhaps renovate your home...Perfect Spring Cleaning days! The optimum expression of Pluto is activating The Healer archetype - the ability to transform in the physical realm, strongly reflected in the Earth sign Capricorn. The Virgo Moon is also concerned with the health of our bodies. So this is a great time to check out your body's health and initiate a new dietary order for yourself. Actions initiated along these themes during this Moon period tend to have EXCELLENT results.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvdJ--DV0Uo
VIRGO FILM SCENE: Intouchables, 2011; Writers/Directors: Olivier Nakache, Éric Toledano.
François Cluzet as quadriplegic Philippe and Omar Sy as his unlikely companion. This film is one of the brightest lights of the healing genre that I can remember. Wealthy connoisseur of the arts Philippe, disregarding all concerns of those close to him, hires Driss, a cocky energetic guy off the street to assist him. Sometimes eccentricity and humor are better remedies than anything else! If you have never seen this film, feast your eyes on two big hearts who surprisingly help heal each other. Sy won the César Award, France's highest national awards, for Best Actor.

APRIL 22-24: EXCELLENT LEO MOON

MOON ENTERS LEO on Sunday, April 22 at 1:09pm EDT after being VOID OF COURSE from 10:58am. It remains in Leo until Tuesday, April 24 at 2:39pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Uranus in Aries. All the Fire of Aries and Leo suggests a passionately creative period! Unusual opportunities abound when we act on inspired new ideas. Make sure to ground yourself in some way - keep your imagination within some kind of practical bounds, or nothing may actually get accomplished. Leo egos can usurp attention so be conscious of others' need for acknowledgement too. Ruled by the Sun, Leo is also the Heart of the zodiac so this may be a time when a new love affair presents itself. Listen to your child-self now - have fun and Play! Actions initiated along these themes are likely to have Excellent results.

LEO FILM SCENE: Pretty Woman, 1990; Director: Gary Marshall. Who can forget the unusual courtship of business mogul Edward and woman-of-the-night Vivian? This love affair is most decidedly of a Uranian nature...two strangers from totally different walks of life meet on the street and an Eliza Doolittle transformation occurs. This clip demonstrates the play that the best of relationships can't do without! Gere and Roberts shine.

APRIL 20-22: CHALLENGING CANCER MOON

MOON ENTERS CANCER at 10:26am EDT on Friday, April 20 after being VOID OF COURSE from 8:05am. MOON REMAINS CANCER until Sunday, April 22 at 10:58am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. The Moon is in its own sign in Cancer, so all classic lunar qualities are heightened. The Feminine Archetype is in play: The Mother, home, family, nurturing, protecting and, of course, food are all highlighted. As number one water sign, it also means these next few days are emotionally sensitive; we tend to take things very personally and are focused on the past. The last aspect suggests that upsets are likely to have strong effects on our mood and we may find ourselves hiding out in the security of our homes or under the covers of our metaphoric wombs. Do what you need to do to feel protected, but also try to find the objectivity in whatever situation that feels overwhelming. Stand outside your emotional body and see what the Other might be experiencing. Express yourself and your feelings as clearly as possible and notice if the tendency to be dependent on others is serving you both. NOTE: Chiron, has just moved into Aries, after an eight year stay in Pisces. Its primary call is to Heal by being your Authentic Whole Self as best you can in each moment. This Cancer Moon is likely to test this goal. Just so you know. This may be a perfect time to stay home and enjoy the nurturing experience of cooking wonderful meals for yourself or your family. In general, actions initiated during this Moon period are likely to have Challenging resolutions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkMpYQxs

CANCER FILM SCENE: A Quiet Place, 2018; Director: John Krasinski. What could be more upsetting for a family than an alien species, which hunts and kills the source of any sound which is painful to their delicate audio sense, living in your back field? Yes, a horror film brought to you by 'The Office' comedian John Krasinski and his real-life wife Emily Blunt! Together they head the screen Abbott family which is forced to live in survival silence with their three children. They have prepared themselves for attack in all sorts of ways, including sign language which they already use to communicate with their deaf daughter, played by the non-hearing amazing young actress, Millicent Simmonds. I'm not a horror-film watcher; but I am an Emily Blunt fan - The Young Victoria, The Adjustment Bureau, The Devil Wears Prada, Charlie Wilson's War are just a few of her treasures. I love witnessing the range of her work - and this film pushes her envelope. Silence is a most successful vehicle for terror...of course. One is so caught up in the family dynamics that it's surprising to find oneself totally engaged in a basically silent movie...what we like to call cinematic. Noah Jupe, who plays son Marcus, felt that with no dialogue he had nothing to hide behind as an actor. He had to inhabit sadness and fear and just be it, not voice it. When interviewed, Krasinski surprisingly speaks to the movie being 'a love letter to his children.' He explains that the narrative demonstrates just how far a parent will go to protect their children. The above clip is the ultimate child birthing scene. In silence. In theaters now. APRIL 18-20: EXCELLENT GEMINI MOON

MOON ENTERS GEMINI at 8:02am EDT on Wednesday, April 18 and remains here until Friday, April 20 at 8:05am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Mercury, this Gemini Moon period is the first clear time for action after its ruler has turned direct. Given that Uranus is considered the higher resonance of Mercury (its collective vibration) the effects are even stronger. This is a great time for travel, communication, and all other occupations of the rational mind. Writing, speaking, teaching and connecting the mental dots are all supported - as long as you can keep up with the Uranian speed of your thoughts! Find a container to hold all this information and to ground yourself if you feel the wings on Mercury's feet throwing you off balance or moving too quickly.  The Sun's entrance into Fixed Earth Taurus on Thursday, the 19th should offer support for this. Keep a journal close by to record what you can. The Sextile to Uranus reflects that great opportunities are available in this mind work (not to mention the revolutionary, unconventional and unexpected) if we have the space and context to receive them. We could even say this Moon period reflects a shift in our  normal rational sense of reality...in a good way! Actions initiated during this exciting Moon period are very likely to have Excellent resolutions. Note that Mercury also reflects the Trickster archetype, so even though the planet is now full steam ahead in direct motion, all may not be what it appears.
GEMINI FILM SCENE: Ruby Sparks, 2012; Directors: Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine); Writer: Zoe Kazan. Novelist Calvin (Paul Dano) creates a female character with whom he falls in love. He serendipitously meets a young woman (Zoe Kazan) who totally embodies this character. He writes, she enacts. It's a miracle. The Trickster is alive and kicking! The film has a wonderfully imaginative comedic premise that, to listen to the creators, goes deeper than we realize. In this clip, we get a sense of this depth and hear the motivation for the unusual set up. Kazan states, "There are simple ideas about people. There's no simple person...When Calvin first encounters her, he has an idea of her, but the real her is so much more complicated." What a way to cut through to the core of how so many of us approach relationships! Also, while much of the film is light and fun, the shadow underbelly of what it means to control another person's behavior is also addressed. Kazan, granddaughter of legendary and politically controversial American director Elia Kazan (On the Waterfront), wrote the script for herself and real-life partner Dano...and their chemistry on screen is electric! This film is an unconventional story that helps us navigate through the most conventional of human phenomenon.

APRIL 16-17: NEARLY EXCELLENT BUT TRICKY TAURUS MOON!

Section of Rubens' The Feast of Venus
MOON ENTERS TAURUS at 4:51am EDT on Monday, April 16 and remains here until Tuesday, April 17 at 6:05pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Conjunct Venus in Taurus. Since Earthy Taurus is ruled by Venus, the last aspect is particularly significant and makes this Moon period very strong and focused on Beauty, the Sensuous life, Love and, of course, Money. Taurus also reflects a drive to provide security for those it loves. Though Taurus moves slowly and Mercury is in its shadow period of turning Direct - both indicating probable delays - this Moon period strives ardently towards acts of love. While, appropriately, we may feel hesitant to trust these acts until Mercury finds its forward stride by the 18th/19th, Taurus is the Master Builder and should still inspire a feeling of grounded protection - eventually. In general, actions initiated during this Moon period are likely to ultimately have Very Good resolutions. All this assumes you make sure to remember to check and double check all information, communications, vehicles and schedules - this is the most vulnerable time of the Mercury Retrograde 3-day-after period. And its the last chance to take advantage of the upside afforded by this exceptionally rich retrograde period  - the creative work of the imagination.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KJ7l4gy4oo
TAURUS SCENE: Casino, 1995; Director: Martin Scorsese. Here we have Taurean Venus Sharon Stone as temptress to Robert DeNiro's Las Vegas casino manager. They're both driven by money and the pleasures/security it can bring - if only temporarily. This is a documentary-like look into a behind-the-scenes life of the mafia-ruled gambling world. In this scene, "Ace" (DeNiro) first lays eyes on Ginger: freeze frame. He is transfixed by her voluptuous beauty and is mesmerized into giving her whatever she desires. And she desires A Lot! Together they risk it all and take the Vegas roller coaster ride to the end of the line. They neglect to pay heed to the Mercury retrograde requirement - to check and double check all their information! But you will, won't  you.

APRIL 13-16: CHALLENGING ARIES NEW MOON

Blake's "Los, Symbol of Poetic Genius, Consumed by Flames"
MOON ENTERS ARIES at 11:56pm EDT on Friday, April 13 and will remain here until 1:59am on Monday, April 16. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Conjunct Uranus in Aries. NEW MOON IS EXACT at 9:57pm EDT on Sunday, April 15 at 26º Aries. This is likely to be a highly volatile Moon period. We're still in the 3-day-before shadow period as Mercury goes Direct on the 15th, so unexpected changes and surprises are even more probable. Be as vigilant as possible about your communications, travel and assumptions. Check and triple check! Ruled by Mars, the Warrior Archetype is reflected in this Cardinal Fire sign, so aggressive behavior may block your moves. Be as willing as possible to deflect egos by accessing Aries' opposite sign Libra's ability to compromise, negotiate and collaborate. Mars also symbolizes our will in terms of our identity...our will to be as well as who we are to become. The last aspect conjunct to Uranus can suggest a sudden change in this sense of identity. In general, actions initiated during this New Moon period will be hard pressed to turn out successfully...especially without a fight! Although the New Moon is inclined to begin something new, find your patience and maybe wait for a better day. In an optimistic closing note - there's another interpretation to this New Moon in Aries. Uranus can suggest a liberation...and joining the Moon in Aries, we might experience a blast of raw energy which can pry us loose from some paralyzing emotional entanglement. This kind of release might set us free to present ourselves as we truly are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeGDBR0Ej_0
ARIES NEW MOON SCENE: The Bourne Identity, 2002; Director: Doug Limon. The original in a series of five hugely creative and well-written action-thriller blockbusters, which features volcanically intense Matt Damon as the title character. The mystery of his lost identity sets up the narrative and immediately catapults us into a non-stop adventure of political intrigue. But you know all that. The film needs no introduction really, but for the purposes of this post, the Aries theme runs strong. Professional Warriors all. Uranus-in-Aries' sudden and shocking amnesia for Jason. And let's take it even one step further: Aries as number-one-Fire-sign reflects this being the first film igniting the flame that becomes the rest of the series. Director Limon has Aries' ruler Mars conjunct his Ascendant which is a strong indicator of his action adventure lens on the world. Besides The Bourne Identity, these would be the stories he'd want to tell: Edge of Tomorrow, Jumper, Mr. and Mrs. Smith and the true espionage story of CIA agent Valerie Plame, Fair Game. If there's any chance you haven't ever seen this film and you're in the mood to engage with the potentially explosive Aries New Moon by having it reflected back to you while lying on your comfy couch - instead of actually living it - check this movie out!

APRIL 11-13: VERY GOOD PISCES MOON

Redon's 'Sailing Boat with Two Passengers'
MOON REMAINS IN AQUARIUS until 10:55am EDT on Wednesday, April 11 when it goes VOID OF COURSE until 2:40pm. At this time the MOON ENTERS PISCES and remains here until 7:27am on Friday, April 13 when it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the day. LAST ASPECT OF PISCES MOON: Moon Trine Jupiter in Scorpio. Ruled by the sea-god Neptune, this watery Moon period reflects a deeply emotional time and is likely to see us hiding behind the scenes - at least behind our unconsciously (or consciously) created masks. Scorpio also likes its secrets and is driven to self-protection. This is a great time to go deeply into the deep-space psyche and recognize the wealth available in your imagination. The dream life is potent with extremely rich information. Use it. The advantageous Sextile to Jupiter suggests the opportunity for growth in this process. Trust where the images lead...and they may lead to Neptunian poetic creativity, musical imagination, cinematic storytelling or any other artistic project. This isn't the time to depend on logic and reason. Neptune/Pisces reflects a fluidity that can temporarily dissolve the structures of our rational mind in order to access the magical reality of the non-rational symbolic world. Neptune reflects the wholeness of unification: All is One and One is All. A lack of delineation tends to create boundary issues, so make yours clear and respect others'. Diminished definitions can make things confusing; if you find yourself on a mystifying oceanic inner journey, remember that the resourcefulness of Scorpio indicates that the situation will work out in the end. Again...pay heed to Mercury Retrograde cautions: no major purchases or agreements if at all possible and check/double check information, vehicles and schedules.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdBl0opvUp0
PISCES SCENE: Truly Madly Deeply, 1990; Writer/Director: Anthony Minghella. This jewel of a film is representative of almost every element of the Pisces Moon Trine Jupiter in Scorpio. I used it a few years ago for a Pisces Trine Venus Moon, but this is just as, or even more, appropriate. It is a beautiful and poignant love and Scorpion death story in which the sweetest music is the vehicle for a Neptunian idealistic vision. Nina, played so authentically by Juliet Stevenson, has lost her Jamie, played by truly, sadly, deeply deceased Alan Rickman and, in this scene, conjures him back through their co-creative life of music. Is she dancing in a dream or is he accompanying her on the cello in this world? The illusion is tantalizing. Pisces wants to cling, as Nina wants desperately to hold onto Jamie's presence. When a potential new love interest arrives on the scene and Jamie realizes her confusion, he recites a poem that seals the deal - Pablo Neruda's 'The Dead Woman' (La Muerta). You can watch the recitation in the clip below. This is truly and deeply a very special film and if somehow you missed it, remedy the situation soon!

APRIL 9-11: VERY GOOD AQUARIUS MOON

William Blake's The Ancient of Days from Europe: A Prophecy, 1794
MOON ENTERS AQUARIUS at 2:50am EDT on Monday, April 9 and remains here until 10:55am on Wednesday, April 11. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Uranus in Aries. Ruled naturally by Uranus, this Fixed Air Moon should be Electric and the intelligent imagination it reflects is likely to soar! The Aquarius principle concerns higher consciousness and the separate individual within the community and its range is from the unusual and innovative, to upsetting changes of circumstance and revolution. Uranus is most always full of surprises, so expect the unexpected now, especially because of Mercury's continued Retrograde. Changes in plans are likely, but with the positive Sextile 60º angle, they're most probably for the best. We may experience people being more objective and detached but don't let that hurt you. Use the Mercury Retrograde opportunity to re-consider and re-do anything previously begun but either wasn't completed or just didn't work out. Scientific and technological/electronic/computer projects are highlighted. Aquarius also rules the circulatory system and reflects all kinds of distribution - especially of information. In general, actions initiated during this Moon period will tend to have VERY GOOD resolutions - as long as you respect the Mercury Retrograde caution. Check and double check your information; postpone, if possible, major contracts, agreements or purchases until the 18th when the Retrograde is clear. Revolution is in the air. Choose your transformation well!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SERgxZeoIjU
AQUARIUS SCENE: Snowden, 2016; Director: Oliver Stone. Stone's drive to enlighten the Moon-ruled public of counter-status-quo information via film (Nixon, JFK, Born on the 4th of July as well as his many politically radical documentaries) is reflective of his astrological blueprint. [His Sun/Mercury (Virgo) and Neptune (Libra) all reside in his 11th House which is Aquarius' natural house. Neptune rules cinema which, of course, would suggest his medium of choice - though it could also have been music or poetry.] With his Scorpio Ascendant, he's a storyteller that goes deep into hidden truths that keepers-of-mainstream-illusions prefer not be publicized. The amazing Mr. Snowden finds himself privy to inner workings of the National Security Agency which are appalling to his highly-tuned sense of justice and freedom. After much reflection, he makes the radical and life-altering decision to distribute the information via trusted journalists over both print and electronic media. We can see that Stone's life-purpose is very similar to Snowden's. Interestingly, both Stone and Snowden's North Nodes (direction toward which life takes us) are both in Gemini. They both fulfill their destinies as communicators. Ruled by Uranus, Aquarius is the collective or higher resonance of Mercury, the ruler of Gemini. While Stone has Uranus square Mercury/Sun, Snowden has Uranus opposite his natal Mercury. Both are high-wire acts with regards to communication, driven to tell the risky stories. Snowden is likely to be tested on his whistleblowing choice come January 2020 when the highly anticipated Saturn conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn makes a challenging squares to his own Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Libra in his 5th house. This clip is not only revelatory but visually exciting, as it graphically demonstrates just how extensively the electronic system of information-distribution is being made available to government watchers. Privacy is an illusion.

APRIL 6-8: CHALLENGING CAPRICORN MOON

MOON ENTERS CAPRICORN at 2:01pm EDT on Friday, April 6 after a VOID OF COURSE morning (from 9:36am). MOON REMAINS IN CAP until Sunday, April 8 at 10:40pm. At that time it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the night. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Saturn, this Cardinal Earth sign Moon is in detriment, being opposite the Moon's natural ruler Cancer. The tendency is to be constrained in expressing emotions and self-conscious about ourselves in general. It may be easier to focus on Capricorn's optimum expression, which is whatever we think will forward us in our careers or making a name for ourselves. Being a responsible parent also makes us feel worthy now. With the Square to Uranus, though, it's likely that whatever we strive to attain during this Moon period, will have CHALLENGING results. This Last Aspect suggests that we'll encounter some aggressive willfulness from another. Saturn reflects a conventional situation or state of mind that is shaken by some unexpected new perspective or circumstance. It may demand that Saturn break up its traditional rules and regs to address some unconventional way of being. Unless you're able to Tai Chi your way to a balance or defy gravity, as these mountain goats demonstrate, it may be better to keep to your own work, preparing to act on it when a better day arrives.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMRJonfmQY0
CAPRICORN SCENE: The Way Back, 2010; Director: Peter Weir; Based on the book 'The Long Walk' (1955), by Slawomir Rawicz. Some strong-willed characters make the decision to defy the Saturnian limitation in which they have been placed. Inspired by a World War II story, the narrative depicts the long and life-threatening escape-journey three prisoners make from a Siberian detention camp to Uranian freedom in India by crossing the Himalayas. It is their Capricornian ambitious determination to survive that sees them through so many dramatic barriers to their ultimate success. Lead actor Jim Sturgess describes this film as a demonstration of the endurance of the human spirit. Interestingly, while the veracity of Rawics's story has never been conclusive, director Weir's research led him to believe that there were indeed men who did make this arduous life-affirming trek to survival. Weir maintains that, while this story exists an epic scale, it is a tribute to each human being's determination to survive life's daily trials. We can summon this Saturnian quality, which resides somewhere inside each of us, to find the strength of character to endure. Saturn/Capricorn can reflect a necessary karmic testing that challenges us to find it.

APRIL 4-6: GOOD SAGITTARIUS MOON

Innovative Centaur with Cello, 1910 - Odilon Redon
MOON ENTERS SAGITTARIUS at 2:55am EDT on Wednesday, April 4 and remains here until Friday, April 6 at 9:36am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Uranus in Aries. This is a stimulating time for innovative philosophical ideas. We'll tend to feel optimistic and want to be free to have an adventure. There's an abundance of positive energy and passion in these fiery few days so take advantage of it! Be careful not to overdo it and create a container or find a way to ground all this fire. A willful need for doing things one's own way may override the status quo rules and regs. If your inclination tends towards travel, just remember Mercury is still Retrograde and it will behoove you to check and double check your vehicles, schedules and other information. Intuition is strong now, so (after you check the practical things) trust it! Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have GOOD outcomes. (The evaluation would be Excellent if Mercury were direct!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EZCG2Ex8Q0
SAGITTARIUS SCENE: Lawrence of Arabia, 1962; Director: David Lean; Cinematographer: Freddy Young. British intelligence officer T.E. Lawrence, played brilliantly by legendary Peter O'toole, takes off on the Sag adventure of his life when he enters the fiery Middle Eastern desert to act as a liaison between the British and Arabs in their revolt against the Turks. Cultures and philosophies clash in a sequence when members of Lawrence's band of revolutionaries do not show up as planned. Ali, played by Omar Sharif implies a belief in the fate of their disappearance when he declares "Gasim's time has come, Lawrence. It is written." The willfulness of Lawrence's character is dramatically portrayed by his refusal to accept Ali's philosophical assumption and his courageous (or foolhardy) decision to risk his life and go back over miles in the desert to look for his lost men (Retrograde Mercury). This is the famous scene of their successful return. Winner of seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Original Musical Score, Lawrence of Arabia is an epic masterpiece not because of its plot. It is Lawrence's unusual character - a merging of sharp intelligence, impulsive rogue behavior and a compulsion towards drama queen nature - as well as the brilliance of the cinematic largess of the visuals, particularly the extreme qualities of the desert, that most witnesses of this classic spectacle hold fondly in our memories.

APRIL 1-3: EXCELLENT SCORPIO MOON

MOON REMAINS IN LIBRA until 2:29pm EDT on Sunday, April 1 when it goes VOID OF COURSE until 6:57pm. SEE MARCH 30 for Libra info. MOON ENTERS SCORPIO at 6:57pm and remains here until 12:06pm on Tuesday, April 3 when it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the day. LAST ASPECT OF SCORPIO MOON: Moon Conjunct Jupiter in Scorpio.  Ruled by Regenerative Pluto, we have a great opportunity for meaningful healing during the Scorpio Moon. The Aspect to Jupiter reflects either intensified emotions and/or a wisdom and Blessing available through your healing process. This is a wonderful time to enter into psychotherapy and to go deep with someone you trust. Remember the three images associated with this sign: The Scorpion, the Eagle and the transformational Phoenix. Pluto/Scorpio reflects Resources of all kinds becoming available to us. Though we may be tempted to make big purchases or investments now, remember to consider that Mercury is still Retrograde and your practical actions may not work out as planned. Take advantage of this very Creative Moon Period. Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have EXCELLENT, though Retrograde qualified, resolutions.

SCORPIO SCENE: The Prince of Tides, 1991; Director: Barbra Streisand. Nick Nolte stars with Streisand as Tom Wingo, an adult wounded by childhood family traumas, who finds solace in the arms of therapist  Susan Lowenstein (Streisand) when he temporarily moves to NYC to care for his suicidal sister. That''s a Scorpionic mouthful! This is one rich drama. And if you've never had the honor and are up for going deep, witnessing a very moving healing of an adult male and being transported from the re-generating glow of south Carolina sunrises to the brash noisy creative colors of New York, this is a movie for you to sink into! After a lifetime of hand-packed repressed emotions and with Jupiter's blessings, Tom transforms his life and lets fly the Phoenix. This opening sequence sets up the story.
