OCTOBER 19-22: GOOD SCORPIO MOON

NEW MOON IS EXACT Thursday, October 19 at 3:12pm EDT at 26º Libra. MOON GOES VOID OF COURSE at 3:12pm until 9:41pm when it ENTERS SCORPIO where it remains until 7:35am on Sunday, October 22. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Mars in Virgo. Important practical actions tend not to work out as planned during the V/C period. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or planning future actions. Ruled by Pluto, the Fixed Water sign Scorpio reflects Life, Death and Transformation. It also symbolizes the depth of our emotional lives. Within the unconscious part of our psyche lives a wealth of yet undiscovered material which we spend our lives bringing to consciousness. The more we become aware of the hidden forces or motivations for our actions and feelings, the stronger our sense of self is developed. Control and power are Scorpionic traits and the stronger our sense of self, the more generous we may be with these qualities. Scorpio also reflects the resources of others so purchases and investments are also highlighted and should bring us benefits. With the Sextile to Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio (before Pluto was discovered in 1930), our sexuality is also highlighted. What spiritual astrologer Isabel Hickey refers to as our animal nature is likely to be heightened now. Use this energy with your highest consciousness. Let honesty, love and integrity guide you, not power or greed. Be careful of Scorpio's sting and it's likely actions initiated now will have GOOD results. Creativity and depth of awareness can be yours.

SCORPIO SCENE FOR THE DAY: Blow-Up, 1966; Director: Michelangelo Antonioni. This classic and highest-grossing art film of its time includes the Scorpionic quality of mystery, as  photographer David Hemmings inadvertently captures what he believes to be an (attempted?) murder on film. A young Vanessa Redgrave plays the woman who appears to be luring an older man to his death. This memorable scene is the actual reveal of the dead body and murderer in the blown up images. Sex drugs and rock and roll are also Plutonic themes in this psychosexual 'mod-masterpiece'. I include below the seductive fashion photography session with model Veruschka. I'll save the unforgettable final scene of this thriller for Pisces Moon Square Saturn in Sag when the question of 'reality or illusion?' arises...
