AUGUST 1-3: EXCELLENT SAGITTARIUS MOON

MOON ENTERS SAGITTARIUS on Tuesday, August 2 at 8:01am EDT after a VOID OF COURSE early morning. It remains here until Thursday, August 3 at 5:38pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Uranus in Aries. This is an exciting time to take off on a summer adventure. There may be some twists and turns that you didn't expect but it all should turn out very well. With all this Sag/Aries Fire (and the Sun in Leo gives us a wide Grand Trine in Fire) it should be a passionate, creative and independent journey or project. If you add a spiritual or philosophical Truth-seeking quest to your agenda it would be even more fulfilling. Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius symbolizes publishing, so it's a great time to push SEND on your computer for your latest writing project! Fire signs can be a bit self-oriented, so make sure you pay attention to others during this Moon period. The Jupiter archetype keeps its focus on the bigger picture, so if you remember to be aware of the details, actions initiated during this time along these themes tend to have EXCELLENT resolutions.

SAGITTARIUS SCENE: Eat Pray Love, 2010; Director: Ryan Murphy; Adapted from the novel by Elizabeth Gilbert. Not one of my favorite films, but the theme of embarking on a meaningful journey to seek one's Truth is not a hugely popular subject for commercial feature films. And here we can begin to understand why. After a long two hours of exotic country-hopping, meditating and culinary delights, Julia Roberts, as author Gilbert, finally finds 'her word' - her Truth. But by this time, we feel rather hit over the head with too many other words of wisdom on 'how to get it right.' Philosophy is a very difficult subject to address on film without becoming preachy or sappy; and for me - a devout believer in exotic country-hopping, meditating and culinary delights - Eat Pray Love becomes both. Who, though, can resist the vibrant visuals of farmers markets, gorgeous mountain and sea locations as well as the beautiful sunlit faces of Roberts, Javier Bardem, James Franco and Billy Crudup?!

JULY 29-31: EXCELLENT SCORPIO MOON

MOON REMAINS IN LIBRA until 5:30pm EDT on Saturday, July 29 when it goes VOID OF COURSE until 8:23pm. See July 27 for more Libra info. Actions initiated during the V/C evening period tend not to work out as planned. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or planning future actions. MOON ENTERS SCORPIO at 8:23pm where it remains until Monday, July 31 at 7:10am when it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the day. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon in Scorpio Sextile Pluto in Capricorn. This Moon is in a very advantageous relationship with its ruling planet Pluto which indicates that actions initiated during this period tend to have EXCELLENT resolutions. Pluto/Scorpio's archetype is strong now suggesting that resources, especially those of others, offers us benefits. This makes it a great time for purchases or investments. Just make sure you know when to sell! This Fixed Water sign reflects a highly emotional time that is driven to delve deep into the unconscious mind for hidden wisdom. This is a great time to begin psychoanalysis. It's also a great time for solving mysteries and doing research. Be conscious of any desire for control over situations from you or another. Be willing to negotiate. Because Scorpio/Pluto also reflects sexuality, we may experience power struggles in this arena. Stand up for yourself.

NOTE: MERCURY will be going RETROGRADE on Saturday, August 12 at 9:01pm EDT. This Scorpio Moon is one of the last Excellent periods before the Retrograde goes into effect - the following Sagittarius Moon being the last Good period. Remember, the three days before and three days after August 12 (August 9-15) will be the trickiest days while Mercury is settling into its Retrograde period - the advice is not to take any important practical actions during this time. TAKE ADVANTAGE of these Scorpio and Sag periods to set things in motion (and complete them, if possible) before Mercury does its thing!

SCORPIO SCENE: Elle, 2016; Director: Paul Verhoeven. This is an extremely provocative and controversial film adapted from the novel, Oh... by French author Philippe Djian. It tells the story about Michelle, a successful video game entrepreneur, who is shockingly raped. It is her response, however, that shocks us perhaps even more dramatically than the violation itself. Isabelle Huppert won a Golden Globe for her performance in this role, played as intellectually detached as perhaps only the French can deliver. The whole film is Scorpionic, focused around issues of control - particularly sexual control. It is not a film for tender souls, but it sets up a complex scenario where the audience is given responsibility - or control, if you will - to evaluate for themselves actions taken. She represents the ultimate strength and will of a woman who takes care of herself, takes back her power in her own style. According to both Verhoeven and Huppert, it is not a general statement about morality or violence; it's a story of one character and her conscious choices. I won't give away any more about the narrative; I will say, true to the Sextile to Pluto, she is successful in her goal to honor herself. While this image reflects the aftermath of the violent act, the scene chosen here is not violent; it's a dinner scene in which she matter-of-factly sets up the story.

JULY 27-29: CHALLENGING LIBRA MOON

MOON ENTERS LIBRA at 11:37am EDT on Thursday, July 27 after a VOID OF COURSE early morning. It remains in LIBRA until Saturday, July 29 at 5:30pm. Actions initiated during the V/C period tend not to work out as planned. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or planning future actions. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon in Libra Opposite Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Venus, this Cardinal Air sign reflects One-to-one Relationships, Equality, Beauty and Art. It also highlights what we Value. With the hard angle to this Mars-colored Uranus, relationships are likely to be at odds with partners having diverging needs. Upsets are apt to erupt, especially around finances, self-worth or not being appreciated. Find ways to negotiate the imbalance and perhaps the need for freedom or unusual behavior for one of the partners. The reconciliation of opposites is one of the most important actions we can take and one astrology can teach us. Honor the needs and qualities of both ends of the polarity or the partners are likely to go their separate ways. Actions initiated during the Moon period tend to have CHALLENGING results.

SCENE FOR THE DAY:Pretty Woman, 1990; Director: Gary Marshall. The perfect Libra Moon Opposite Uranus in Aries argument. She feels under appreciated and says so; he throws down the money owed and walks away; with his sincere apology and her willingness to forgive, a reconciliation is achieved. Venus in Mars in balance. Need I say more?

JULY 25-27: CHALLENGING VIRGO MOON

MOON ENTERS VIRGO at 6:32am EDT on Tuesday, July 25 and remains here until Thursday, July 27 at 2:31am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Venus in Gemini. Both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury. Therefore, its archetype, which symbolizes communication, mind processes and travel is very strong at this time. Venus and the Moon - the two Feminine planetary archetypes -  being in hard aspect to each other suggests a conflict between our desire for relationship and our other basic needs. Such a yearning for connection and affection could cause one to compromise one's self-protection. Try not to lose yourself in another. We may see the least optimum expression of Virgo now, which, in its demand for perfection, can be very critical and judgmental. Be conscious about going in this direction before you or someone else - particularly a woman - gets hurt. Both Virgo and Gemini are mutable signs which suggests that conflict may arise out of a lack of constancy. Changing your mind is fine - just make sure you prepare others. Because Venus also rules what we Value, be smart about financial practices or purchases. Writers, speakers and teachers: it's probably best to prepare your work now, but not to send out manuscripts. You're likely not to be satisfied with how financial arrangements work out or a woman with whom one works may be contrary or a gossiper. Virgo Moon periods are very useful times for cleaning and organizing. Take advantage! Actions in general initiated during this Moon period tend to have CHALLENGING results.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HApRyE_EJV4
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, 2008; Director: Bharat Nalluri. Two women face off in this scene. Fashion queen Edythe (Shirley Henerson) thinks she's undermining down-on-her-luck Miss Pettigrew by revealing her hidden identity to the man they both love. Frances McDormand is totally endearing as Pettigrew, 'social secretary' extraordinaire according to her oblivious coquettish employer Delysia, played deliciously by Amy Adams. Evil Edythe's sharp tongue doesn't work to her advantage, however, and Miss Pettigrew's true and down-to-earth colors eventually win the day.

JULY 23-25: GOOD LEO NEW MOON

MOON ENTERS LEO at 4:34am EDT on Sunday July 23 and remains here until Tuesday, July 25 at 5:22am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Conjunct Mercury in Leo. NEW MOON IS EXACT at 5:46am on Sunday, July 23 at 0 degrees Leo. The SUN's archetype is highlighted now as both the Sun and Moon are both under its rulership in the Fixed Fire sign of Leo. Our sense of Selfhood is front and center. How we express ourselves, both verbally, physically and spiritually reveals our true nature. The conjunction to Mercury should afford us the ability to communicate well, though Moon/Mercury connections can be tricky. Our emotions can affect our thinking and we may not be able to be objective when we need to be. Or it can work the other way, and we are bothered by others overly-expressing their emotions. In Leo, we may over-dramatize our needs as well as be over-enthusiastic about...everything! While this may not be such a bad thing, get a reality check - see what's appropriate for the situation and what others need. We can't play center stage; remember to share. Child of the zodiac and ruler of the Heart, Leo loves to play - especially at love affairs! Enjoy this very creative New Moon with activities that are Fun. Actions initiated during this NEW MOON period tend to have GOOD resolutions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIrF-rsXWJM&t=5s
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Terms of Endearment, 1983; Director: James L. Brooks. I do realize one doesn't think of this film for Leo playfulness, but it does have one of the most memorable beach joyride scenes ever! Leo Ascending Jack Nicholson, at his playboy best, sits atop of his seat back steering his Corvette with his foot on the wheel while Shirley MacLaine, as wild-woman Aurora has the pedal to the metal. He's having the time of his life, sporting his characteristic shades and singing in the wind through his ear to ear grin. What center stage Leo chemistry these two actors have together! (Both have Sun in Taurus.) It's fun until it quickly gets...shall we say over-enthusiastic...but a love affair doth ensue...

JULY 21-23: CHALLENGING CANCER MOON

MOON ENTERS CANCER at 4:09am EDT on Friday, July 21 and remains here until Sunday, July 23 at 2:05am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. SUN ENTERS LEO on Saturday, July 22 at 11:16am. This is likely to be an emotionally eruptive period where our very subjective feelings are unexpectedly confronted with a change or upsetting new development. Try to find your grounding and remain as objective as possible. Look at the bigger picture; try to stand in the other's shoes. Keep breathing and draw courage from your intuitive knowledge of what is needed by both you and others. Attention on home, family and the women in your life will be highlighted now. Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have CHALLENGING results. But remember Cancers are foodies...an epicurean feast can heal most all Cancer's wounds!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7kOyt9dPB4
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Big Night, 1996; Directors: Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott. Spoiler Alert! After a feast of several gourmet courses, two restaurant owners played by Tucci and Tony Shalhoub, realize that their guest of honor, the famous Italian singer/actor Louis Prima (who they're told would be coming to help promote their failing restaurant) was never actually invited. Uranian upset? Ya think? This final scene, the morning after - with basically one line of dialogue - tells it all. It's down to basics...the perfect egg.

JULY 19-21: EXCELLENT GEMINI MOON

MOON ENTERS GEMINI at 3:31am EDT on Wednesday, July 19 and remains here until Friday, July 21 at 1:40am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Mercury, this a great time to initiate communication and travel for EXCELLENT results. It's an exciting period where new innovative ideas can be proposed which should be very well received. Our minds are likely to be exploding with creative impulses, gathering new information a mile a minute. It's important to eventually create a grounded container for this information flow to keep it as realistic as possible, but now is the time to brainstorm out of the box! Siblings can join together and find new ways to negotiate issues. Uranus is considered the higher vibration or resonance of Mercury, the planetary archetype of gathering information and being the messenger of it. Given this, as well as the belief that Uranus also reflects higher consciousness, it has been designated as the planetary ruler of Astrology - a system which is very much about gathering information, both scientific and symbolic. This, then would be a perfect time to engage in astrological study. The Sextile to Uranus indicates: Opportunities Abound!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHkAFpyJu5Q
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Elizabeth: The Golden Age, 2007; Director: Shekhar Kapur. I love re-visiting this film for many reasons, but primarily because it engages with the practice of astrology more profoundly than any other film I know. Sourced from Queen Elizabeth's real-life relationship with her personal and court astrologer, John Dee, we witness in this scene the reverence and honor with which the art is practiced and the seriousness with which it is received. Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth and David Threlfall as Dr. Dee exemplify the archetypal relationship of astrologer/client.

JULY 17-19: GOOD TAURUS MOON

MOON ENTERS TAURUS at 1:04am EDT on Monday, July 17 and remains here until Wednesday, July 19 at 2:11am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Mars in Cancer. Ruled by Venus, this Taurus Moon is an Earthy sensuous period which, with the Sextile to Mars in Cancer, brings a sensitivity and attention to family to the mix. Both the Fixed nature of Taurus and Mars in Cancer reflect a holding in of emotions until they explode, so try to communicate-as-you-go to avoid this possibility. Taurus is the Money sign and symbolizes the desire to provide security and value for those we love. It's a great time for purchasing, especially in the area of home, property and beautiful objets d'Art. Taurus is also considered the Master Builder. We can use this time to make things - slowly, step by step, bring things into form. Even though the garden has been put in for the summer, it's a perfect time for maintenance. Actions initiated during this time tend to have GOOD resolutions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r-g9xcJBpE
SCENE FOR THE DAY: The Kids Are All Right, 2010; Director: Lisa Cholodenko. In this scene Julianne Moore, as landscaper Jules, proves herself to be not only the Master Builder but sensuous Venus to Mark Ruffalo, the sperm donor...as well as to her steal-the-show grinning Mexican gardener. Emotions erupt but everything turns our all right...almost everything.

JULY 14-16: CHALLENGING ARIES MOON

MOON REMAINS IN PISCES until 1:00pm EDT on Friday, July 14 when it goes VOID OF COURSE. See July 12 for more Pisces info. MOON REMAINS VOID OF COURSE until 7:52pm when it ENTERS ARIES. It remains in Aries until Sunday July 16 at 10:19pm. Important practical actions initiated during this VOID OF COURSE day tend not to work out as planned. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or planning future actions. LAST ASPECT OF ARIES MOON: Moon Conjunct Uranus in Aries. The Aries Moon is ruled by Mars, making it a pretty feisty time and might be expressed as Amazon Warrior Woman. The first sign of the zodiac is that spark of Fire that ignites the life force and says, I AM. It's optimum expression is one of courage, leadership and right use of Will. When challenged, this rather self-oriented archetype is quick to anger, bluntly expressing themselves without awareness of others. This is especially relevant with the conjunction to Uranus which signifies sudden changes or upsets. Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have CHALLENGING results. Physical activity is highlighted, but be sure you stay as conscious as possible. Mars/Uranus can indicate impulsive movement which can lead to an accident prone time. Remember to slow down. This may be a very willful energy, so pay attention to those around you and honor their opinions as well as your own. We must consider, though, that in some situations, the willful force of Mars/Uranus may be the only state of being that will get the job done...survival mode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LukZ_DpMYU
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Wonder Woman, 2017; Director: Patty Jenkins. Superheroine Wonder Woman is the perfect current incarnation of the Greek Gods' Amazonian Woman. Former Miss Israel Gal Gadot is Uranian electric in her portrayal of the legendary comic book character. The first of the these clips demonstrates her relationship with Martian Fire, a reoccurring theme of physical power in the narrative. Physical force may not be the go-to modus operandi for many of us, but sometimes some kick-ass Aries Warrior energy is what's called for!

JULY 12-14: GOOD/FAIR PISCES MOON

After a VOID OF COURSE morning from 8:40am, the MOON ENTERS PISCES at 11:51 EDT on Wednesday, July 12. It remains here until Friday, July 14 at 1:00pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Mars in Cancer. Pisces is the Mutable Water sign and is ruled by Neptune. This is a very creative and sensitive time. Neptune reflects the 'urge to merge', sacrificing definition and details to the unified whole picture. It's optimum expression is to be connected to the spiritual truth - all is one and one is all - as well as creating or appreciating Beauty in any artistic medium. While the Trine is a harmonious 120 degree angle, any Moon/Mars aspects can be tricky. The optimum scenario reflects the ability to courageously express oneself honestly - to reveal who you truly are while remaining empathetic towards others. The Trine to Mars in Cancer suggests the support for sensitive action as a result of one's compassion. With all this Water, emotions can run high. Because our attention is on the bigger picture, specifics can be missed; confusion and deception are possible results. Draw support from Earthy practical friends for a reality check if you have doubts. This is a great time for a visit to the sea or getting poetically transported! Actions initiated during this Moon period tend to have GOOD/ FAIR resolutions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTkgIN2Ttel

SCENE FOR THE DAY: Happy-Go-Lucky, 2008; Writer/Director: Mike Leigh. Golden Globe Best Actress Sally Hawkins, as elementary school teacher Poppy, embodies the Piscean compassionate soul who has the courage to speak her truth and the Martian energy to act on it. Collaborating with director Leigh, she creates a most unusual and unforgettable character. In this scene with Eddie Marsan as her driving coach, she playfully teases him into a a reaction which alerts her to the realization that he is a wounded man. She has the courage to speak to it. Wait for the last few lines. Few directors have the ability to demand the authenticity and commitment to specific layers of psychological reality that reside in a given moment of a character's behavior. Mike Leigh is famous for it, spending six months in rehearsal to achieve it! This comedy/drama/love story is a one-of-a-kind cinematic work of art. See Leigh and Hawkins interviewed here.

JULY 10-12: EXCELLENT AQUARIUS MOON

MOON ENTERS AQUARIUS at 1:25am EDT on Monday, July 10 and remains here until Wednesday, July 12 at 8:40am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Uranus in Aries. Given that Uranus rules Water Bearer Aquarius, its archetype is strong now. This Fixed Air sign period is an EXCELLENT time to begin innovative-idea driven projects. Group and community oriented activities are highlighted. The need for independence is strong. This is a Great time to initiate projects on your computer or any other electronic device. Before Uranus was discovered in 1781 by William Herschel, Saturn was its traditional ruler. So Aquarius can reflect either or both planetary archetypes. The combination of Saturn and Uranus can symbolize revolutionary projects which focus on breaking down restrictive systems of the past (as in government), making way for future-oriented humanitarian principles. Circumstances may change during the development of your actions but, as the Sextile to Uranus indicates, opportunities are available in this arena now and the end results should bring great satisfaction! Remember Aquarius periods tend to feel more detached and objective, so don't take others' need for space too personally. Get together with friends and do something exciting!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tMNssI56Hc
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Snowden, 2016; Director: Oliver Stone. Aquarian themes of human rights and breaking apart the status quo for the greater good of the collective and future benefit are rampant in the character of whistleblower Edward Snowden. Revealing classified intelligence documents to journalists who published them for the world to see calls into question whether this former military and NSA agent is a traitor or hero. Whatever your perspective, his actions expressed the radical nature of the Aquarian archetype. He is a revolutionary character, willing to sacrifice his personal freedom, as well as adherence to Saturnian law, for what he believes is the greater good. A quote from a Katie Couric interview with Snowden underlines this sentiment: “Every act of progression (Aquarius) in our nation’s history has involved tension with law. Whether it be slavery, the rights for women or the birth of our nation - laws were broken. And that’s because the laws were wrong.” That information from electronic technology was the source of his mission only heightens the Uranian nature of his actions. As with so many of Stone's historically-based movies, this film strives to enlighten its audience about the hidden parts of a bigger controversial story. JKF, Nixon and Born on the 4th of July are other powerful examples. There's an unexpected excitement to the development of the narrative in Snowden and the visuals of state-of-the-art digital technology offers a tension that is palpable. Stone himself is a maverick of American cinema as he continues to provide our culture with some of the most important stories to tell. The Aquarian age is here and, in this film, well-represented!

JULY 7-10: CHALLENGING FULL CAPRICORN MOON

MOON ENTERS CAPRICORN at 1:45pm EDT on Friday, July 7 and remains here until Sunday, July 9 at 10:12pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. The  Ruled by Saturn, this Cardinal Earth sign reflects a drive to produce results. The ambitious mountain goat tends to take things very seriously, acting slowly, practically and responsibly to get to the top. Saturn's archetype symbolizes structure and form. Structure limits space, so we often feel Capricorn/Saturn influences as restriction. With the square to Uranus, there is tension between constraint and freedom at this time. Our result is likely to be radically different from what we expected. We might draw wisdom from the 30th Hexagram of the classic Wilhelm/Baynes translation of the I Ching in this area. "Human life is conditioned and unfree, and when we recognize this limitation and make ourselves dependent upon the harmonious and beneficent forces in the cosmos, we achieve success...By cultivating in ourselves the attitude of compliance and voluntary dependence, we acquire clarity without sharpness and find our place in the world." Paradox plays a fundamental part in human existence. Perhaps we can only experience a kind of freedom when we recognize our basic limitations. Perhaps it's all, once again, a matter of perspective. This I Ching reading might give us a deeper insight into Saturn's archetype, the astrological principal of Reality: the importance and even benefits of structure, and perhaps even Fate, as constraint. Otherwise, in general, actions initiated during this period will tend to have CHALLENGING resolutions.

FULL MOON: The Capricorn Moon Opposite Sun in Cancer is exact at 0:07am on Sunday, July 9 at 9 degrees Capricorn. This is the classic Masculine archetype opposite the Feminine Archetype as a double whammy - given than the Feminine Moon is in a sign reflecting the Masculine archetype and the Masculine Sun is in the sign reflecting the Feminine archetype. Capricorn (which rules the natural 10th House of the authority parent as well as how we present our own authority to the world) Opposite Cancer (which rules the natural 4th House of nurturing parent, home and family) is the classic Mother opposite Father or Home opposite Career dynamic. It is the quintessential reflection of the alchemical marriage of masculine and feminine, conjunctio. And that is one of the challenges of this Full Moon: finding the way to honor both ends of the polarity. Be creative!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTseWiI_yns
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Jane Eyre, 2011; Director: Cary Fukunaga. Here we have a film which can be seen to represent both the Moon Square Uranus period as well as the Full Moon Opposition of Cancer/Capricorn. Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender reflect our Feminine and Masculine archetypes in this scenario. Jane is passionately acknowledging her history of bondage (limiting Saturn) as opposed to her relative freedom (Uranus) while living at Thornfield Hall with Mr. Rochester. They also demonstrate, in the end, the reconciliation of opposites.
We might liken the above I Ching analogy for Moon Square Uranus to the actor who, only after memorizing his/her given dialogue, can be liberated in its expression and effect on another actor. Only then does she breath life into the words and make them her own. The structure of Saturn gives way to the freedom of Uranus. We then realize that the large asteroid Chiron orbits between these two planets and is considered by many astrologers (e.g. Barbara Hand Clow) to be the bridge between past traditional structures and the breakthroughs of future-oriented Uranus innovation - technological and otherwise. Chiron symbolizes our original place of wounding as well as the potential to teach others from what we have learned about that vulnerable place. Again, the marrying of oppositional forces, such as Saturn and Uranus, is crucial in moving towards wholeness.

JULY 5-7: GREAT SAGITTARIUS MOON

MOON ENTERS SAGITTARIUS at 1:08am EDT on Wednesday, July 5 and remains here until Friday July 7 at 10:12am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Jupiter, this Mutable Fire sign reflects a time of freedom, independence and questing for higher truths. Long distance journeys of the body and mind are benefited at this time. The Last Aspect to Uranus increases the need for freedom and lends an air of excitement and unexpected twists to our adventures. Stay as grounded as possible in all this Fire - Find your Saturn: Get reality checks, remember your keys, money and directions. Amidst all the glorious spontaneity, some planning will also help. Seeing the bigger picture comes more naturally during this time so philosophical and spiritual contexts can give us more meaning than usual at this time. This is a GREAT optimistic summer time to initiate actions within all these Jupitarian themes. This largest planet in our Solar System can reflect a result of abundance. Oh yes, for writers...this is THE time to publish by pressing that Send Button! Uranus rules electronic devices.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwtPePJpjpE
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Gravity, 2013; Director: Alfonso Cuarón. This is a perfect Sagittarian  long distance adventure of body and mind that deserves two clips - the ending: Part I and Part 2!  To me, it's the best of the more recent space flight films. It tells the story of two astronauts, played by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, struggling to survive an accident in space. This is a spoiler sequence, so beware if you haven't seen the film. Note the related Sag/Uranian themes: The Fire, the electronic dashboard, the number of surprising twists and barriers to her goal in this sequence alone, being trapped and fighting for one's Freedom as well as for one's Life - all together a Great Adventure. Winner of 7 Academy Awards, the visuals and music in this film are astounding...and Sandra Bullock is nothing short of Amazing.

JULY 2 - 4: EXCELLENT SCORPIO MOON

MOON REMAINS IN LIBRA until 9:16am EDT on Sunday when it goes VOID OF COURSE until 12:59pm. See June 30 for more Libra info. Important practical actions initiated during the V/C period tend not to work out as planned. It's best to use this time for inner creative work or planning future actions. MOON ENTERS SCORPIO at 12:59pm on Sunday, July 2 and remains here until Tuesday, July 4 at 9:34pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Mercury in Cancer. Ruled by Pluto, and traditionally by Mars, this Fixed Water sign reflects the depths we can mine when elements are ripe. With the harmonious Trine angle to Mercury, also in a Water sign, communication is rich beyond the imagination. All this Water indicates emotions which will very likely run high and deep! This is an EXCELLENT opportunity for self-investigation and healing. We may be drawn to engage with all kinds of mysteries which tempt us into uncharted territories. The unconscious psyche is likely to be very active, making symbols - as tools - available to us now. Pluto rules resources, especially those of others, so investments and purchases are also advantageous during this time. Do your research but trust your intuitive gut about when to sell. This is also a very creative time for artists, as the life force, is very strong. Our sexuality is consequently front and center, heightened by language of the sensual. Actions initiated now along all these themes tend to have EXCELLENT resolutions. Transformation is at hand! From the deathly sting of the scorpion and serpent, to the omniscient perspective of the eagle, to the resurrection of the phoenix.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcJ6EKfh5H4
SCENE FOR THE DAY: The Lost City of Z, 2016; Director: James Gray. Charlie Hunnam, of Sons of Anarchy Fame, (though I think of him from a memorable 2011 Sundance film, The Ledge and more recently, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) plays Col. Percy Fawcett, real life British explorer in search of a lost Amazon civilization. The film is completely Scorpionic both in narrative and dark visceral visuals. Fawcett is compelled to solve a mystery, find what is hidden from view and is willing to enter the unknown - facing death many times over - in order to find it. Robert Patterson, of the Twilight series fame, continues to develop his dramatic chops as Fawcett's colleague and Sienna Miller brings Venus to the picture as Fawcett's left-behind wife. I was resistant to see this film at first because of the seemingly inevitable violence - only to discover it was much more character driven than gory. Indeed, it casts a magnetic spell - within which one is quite willing to be suspended.
