MARCH 17-20: CHALLENGING SAGITTARIUS MOON

After a VOID OF COURSE MOON from 5:56pm EDT on Friday, March 17, the MOON ENTERS SAGITTARIUS at 11:00pm and remains until Monday, March 20 at 6:37am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius. Ruled by Jupiter, planet of growth, abundance and the search for meaning, our natural Sagittarius optimism may be constrained by Saturn now. Perhaps we've been overdoing things and are getting the message to control ourselves! Sag loves to travel to distant lands so this may be a time to stay home for awhile. Sagittarius/Jupiter expands while Saturn contracts; we may experience a 'start/stop' or 'push/pull' now. This Mutable Fire sign also signals a passion for Freedom which Saturn is eventually likely to block. SCENE FOR THE DAY: Ghandi, 1982; Director: Richard Attenborough. Ghandi stages his first non-violent protest in this scene initiating his quest for Freedom from British rule for Indians. Saturn shows up in the form of police beatings as he burns the required 'pass' Indians must carry at all times. Interestingly, Ghandi had Saturn in Sagittarius. The push/pull of striving for Sagittarian qualities and being stopped at almost every turn would be Saturn's life lesson for him. His Sun and Ascendant were both in Libra emphasizing, even more, his search for Justice. Libra's Air element fueled his Fire indicating the unrelenting nature of his resistance.

TRUMP NOTE: DT has Moon in Sagittarius which, since his election, is being transited by Saturn. This challenge to his Moon actually indicates a curbing of his natural show of arrogance as well as the constraint he is experiencing from The Feminine. This transit which limits him will last until mid-October. Our work for justice, freedom and equality must be maintained with great vigor during this period! We are building towards 2020 when Saturn conjoins Pluto in Capricorn and a new cycle begins. This planetary pattern appears to be dramatic for the US if we consider that 9/11 occurred when these two planets were in opposition on the US Ascendant/Descendant axis. Though Saturn/Pluto often reflects a tearing down of traditional structures, in the end, how we rebuild is, ideally, up to US.

SCENE FOR THE DAY: The Sixth Sense, 1999. Director: M. Night Shyamalan. Young Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) sees dead people (Pluto). He's just told his mother (Toni Collette) this long-held torturous secret in this scene. The people he sees don't know they've passed over and come to Cole for help. After going through the gates of hell not comprehending his Scorpionic Sensitivity, with the support of child psychologist Bruce Willis, he comes out the other end as self-confident healer. His seventh sense of self (Trine Sun) is restored and he develops yet another new sense for the bigger more inclusive picture (Sun in Pisces).

MARCH 13-15: GOOD LIBRA MOON

MOON IN LIBRA from 1:28am EDT on Monday, March 13 until Wednesday, March 15 at 6:05am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Saturn in Sagittarius. Ruled by Venus, this Cardinal Air sign reflects the Archetype of Eros, Love, Balance and Justice. It also symbolizes Partnerships, Beauty, and What we Value. Therefore it also represents Money. Our attention is likely to be on Relationships during this Moon period. We want to make sure that they maintain equality - or at least are aesthetically pleasing! Here we have an older contract killer Leon (Jean Reno) who takes his pubescent, ballsy and recently orphaned neighbor Mathilde (Natalie Portman) under his wing. Her druggy family has been murdered by crooked DEA officer (Gary Oldman) and he's comin' after Mathilda next. She's in need of protection and asks Leon to trade his professional skills for doing his laundry. She thinks she's falling in love with him while he develops a parental caring for her. Theirs is a sweet kind of friendship - in an underworld-romantic-fantasy kind of way. This highly unusual Libran relationship also pulls Saturn's older-but-wiser quality into the mix, though we're never sure which one of them that is...and the dynamic between the two is so endearing we don't really care. 

March 10-12: CHALLENGING VIRGO FULL MOON

MOON remains in LEO until 12:05pm EST - See March 8. MOON IS VOID OF COURSE from 12:05pm until 5:07pm when it ENTERS VIRGO where it remains until Sunday, March 12 at 10:36pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Opposite Mercury in Pisces.  NOTE: Eastern Daylight Time begins at 2:00am on Sunday, March 12. Virgo is polarized by its planetary ruler, Mercury, so this period is likely to have difficulties in the area of Communication and our mental/analytic abilities. This Mutable Earth sign can be overly critical with a hard aspect. With the opposition it's likely that someone else will be criticizing us. Prominent attorney Henry Turner (Harrison Ford) is shot during an attempted robbery and because of the resulting brain injury finds his mental and motor skills dramatically impaired. In this scene his daughter Rachel, with whom he previously had a distant relationship, teaches him to read again. We witness how separate letters and syllables form words which give us the larger context of meaning through language. The joy expressed between father and daughter at Henry's ability to access this profound skill again is magnetic for the audience. This once eloquent orator, who used words primarily to conquer, will now find words from the heart and rediscover the unity of family.

MARCH 8-10: GOOD LEO MOON

MOON IN LEO from 11:45am on Wednesday, March 8 until Friday, March 10 at 12:05pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Saturn. Ruled by the Sun, this Fixed Fire sign thrives on being the center of its universe. It carries a regal air and sense of entitlement. But it also needs to earn your respect in a big way. MARCH 6-8: CHALLENGING CANCER MOON

LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Mars in Aries.The Moon is in its own sign now which makes it strong: highly sensitive, emotional, moody and changeable. SCENE FOR THE DAY: Twentieth Century Women, 2016; Director: Mike Mills. Annette Bening as Dorothea, exudes the Twentieth Century Mother Archetype to a tee! In her attempts to protect and support her son, Jamie, in becoming the man he is to be, she enlists two younger women as agents - Elle Fanning as Julie and Greta Gerwig as Abbie. All three are beautiful, forthright and powerful in their own ways. In this scene, Julie and Dorothea confront each other about their respective effects on young Jamie, played by Lucas Jade Zumann. With improvisational dancing and some hysterical lines, Billy Crudup, as boarder William, rounds out the cast as only he can do! Through the exquisite performances of this brilliant ensemble cast we also witness Dorothea, Julie and Abbie becoming the women they are to be. 

MARCH 4-6: GOOD GEMINI MOON

Ruled by Mercury, this Mutable Air sign reflects Communication, Travel and Mind Processes. This is a high energy day in motion! Mars in Aries indicates an abundance of energy to set in motion any project. Make sure you have a strong container or grounding for your work. Gemini with a strong Mars Fire can be scattered. SCENE FOR THE DAY:Charlie Wilson's War, 2007; Director: Mike Nichols; Screenwriter: Aaron Sorkin. In this scene Julia Roberts, as Joanne Herring, right-wing Houston socialite with ties to the President of Pakistan, instructs Texas Senator Charlie Wilson (Rep.), how he is going to end the War in Afghanistan. Sharp as the safety pin with which she separates her mascaraed lashes, Herring takes on the Mars Warrior archetype to orchestrate the impossible. She knows what she wants, has all her information handy and fights to make it happen. In the end, Israelis and Muslims are are actually working together to defeat the Russians who they equally despise (this is supposed to be based on  true events). With Sorkin's brilliantly witty dialogue the scene is mind blowing in complexity, confidence and dry humor. These two characters have a 'special relationship.' And they sure do get things done!

MARCH 2-3: EXCELLENT TAURUS MOON

MOON in TAURUS from 2:43am EST Thursday until Friday, March 3 at 10:20 am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Trine Pluto in Capricorn. Taurus is ruled by Venus which reflects the Law of Attraction. This includes Love, Beauty and Money. It can also be framed as having our attention on 'What we Value.' The Last Aspect of Trine to Pluto is very favorable for the use of Resources, Renovation and Depth Psychology. Therefore, actions initiated during this Moon period, especially along these themes, will tend to have EXCELLENT results. This is a Great time to purchase or invest. Since both Taurus and Capricorn are Earth Signs, the purchase of Land or property should be extremely beneficial. SCENE FOR THE DAY: Loving, 2016; Director: Jeff Nichols. Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton know the value of a piece of land. It means they have a place to be who they are: a black woman married to a white man in Virginia during the 1960's. After Richard Loving purchases the plot of land near his wife's family, they marry in Washington DC and are later arrested for living together in Virginia. They put everything on the line to fight for their right to live there as an interracial couple. Ruth writes a letter to then Attorney General Bobby Kennedy who responds with compassion; from there, their battle takes them all the way to the US Supreme Court. Taurus Moon Trine Pluto would be representative of the initial purchase of that acre of land which has a successful resolution! They win their battle when the Supreme Court determines unanimously that laws prohibiting interracial marriage are unconstitutional. As Pluto demands, many other couples' lives are changed as a result of their perseverance.
