APRIL 6-8: CHALLENGING CAPRICORN MOON

MOON ENTERS CAPRICORN at 2:01pm EDT on Friday, April 6 after a VOID OF COURSE morning (from 9:36am). MOON REMAINS IN CAP until Sunday, April 8 at 10:40pm. At that time it goes VOID OF COURSE for the rest of the night. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. Ruled by Saturn, this Cardinal Earth sign Moon is in detriment, being opposite the Moon's natural ruler Cancer. The tendency is to be constrained in expressing emotions and self-conscious about ourselves in general. It may be easier to focus on Capricorn's optimum expression, which is whatever we think will forward us in our careers or making a name for ourselves. Being a responsible parent also makes us feel worthy now. With the Square to Uranus, though, it's likely that whatever we strive to attain during this Moon period, will have CHALLENGING results. This Last Aspect suggests that we'll encounter some aggressive willfulness from another. Saturn reflects a conventional situation or state of mind that is shaken by some unexpected new perspective or circumstance. It may demand that Saturn break up its traditional rules and regs to address some unconventional way of being. Unless you're able to Tai Chi your way to a balance or defy gravity, as these mountain goats demonstrate, it may be better to keep to your own work, preparing to act on it when a better day arrives.

CAPRICORN SCENE: The Way Back, 2010; Director: Peter Weir; Based on the book 'The Long Walk' (1955), by Slawomir Rawicz. Some strong-willed characters make the decision to defy the Saturnian limitation in which they have been placed. Inspired by a World War II story, the narrative depicts the long and life-threatening escape-journey three prisoners make from a Siberian detention camp to Uranian freedom in India by crossing the Himalayas. It is their Capricornian ambitious determination to survive that sees them through so many dramatic barriers to their ultimate success. Lead actor Jim Sturgess describes this film as a demonstration of the endurance of the human spirit. Interestingly, while the veracity of Rawics's story has never been conclusive, director Weir's research led him to believe that there were indeed men who did make this arduous life-affirming trek to survival. Weir maintains that, while this story exists an epic scale, it is a tribute to each human being's determination to survive life's daily trials. We can summon this Saturnian quality, which resides somewhere inside each of us, to find the strength of character to endure. Saturn/Capricorn can reflect a necessary karmic testing that challenges us to find it.
