SCENE FOR THE DAY: The Girl in the Cafe, 2005; Director: David Yates. This is a very unusual dry comedic drama about an older British political player (Bill Nighy) and a young woman he meets in a cafe (Kelly McDonald). The narrative is a slow build about their relationship but as the second act begins, he takes her to the G8 summit in Reykjavik and all hell breaks loose. I'll just say that the Libran theme of justice prevails in a seriously unique way as she's compelled to speak her Truth. Gorgeous performances.
