MOON IN CAPRICORN from 1:37am EDT on Sunday, May 14 until Monday, May 16 at 6:22am. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Square Uranus in Aries. Ruled by
Saturn, this Cardinal Earth sign tends to limit the expression of our
emotions. We tend now to be more focused on the success of our careers in the outer world, symbolized by the mountain goat ambitiously climbing to the top of the heap. Being
responsible, disciplined and practical - what it takes to get the job done - should come easier now; but
don't deny your relationships, which may be less definable, the attention they deserve. With this Last
Aspect, we are likely to encounter or create unexpected upsets in reaching our goals. We may
be so concentrated on producing admirable results at work that we act
impulsively and conflict ensues. Actions initiated during this time
tend to have CHALLENGING results. Use this grounded earth-centered
time to move cautiously so you can evaluate your choices and their
effects as consciously as possible.
NOTE: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! The Mother archetype is traditionally reflected by The Moon which rules the sign Cancer and the 4th House of home and family. It's interesting that on this year's Mother's Day the Moon is in its opposite sign of Saturn-ruled Capricorn. While this ruler of the pinnacle 10th House of Public Recognition or
Career is often associated with The Father archetype, many in the
astrological community suggest that if the Mother is stronger in the
native's life, this celebrated house would instead reflect her. Given that it's Mother's
Day today let's give our personal matriarch the public honor she has
earned and place her at the top of the chart this weekend! Remember, this blog is all about the reconciliation of opposites! Here's our chance. This Capricorn Mother's Day we honor all Mom's out in the world doing their thing! I love you, Mom🌟❤️🌟
SCENE FOR THE DAY: Postcards from the Edge, 1990; Director: Mike Nichols. A mother and daughter classic! Playing out the challenging real-life relationship between actresses Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher, the incomparable Shirley MacLaine and Meryl Streep gift the audience with perfectly timed (Saturn) comedy in their attempt to rectify family wounds. In this scene we get a hit of what its like to have one's mother, whose career was always her priority, steal the limelight...over and over. Dennis Quaid and Gene Hackman in all their glory just barely stand their ground with these two Amazon Women! One of my all-time favorites.
...and just for fun, here's another unforgettable scene.
