AUGUST 6-8: CAUTIOUSLY GOOD FULL AQUARIUS MOON - PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE

Water Bearer Aquarian Full Moon
MOON ENTERS AQUARIUS at 8:16am EDT on Sunday, August 6, after an early morning VOID OF COURSE period, and remains here until Tuesday, August 8 at 3:07pm. LAST ASPECT OF MOON: Moon Sextile Uranus in Aries. The FULL MOON is exact at 2:11pm on Monday, August 7 at 15 degrees Aquarius. As all Full Moon periods are, this is an intense time, heightened even more by the PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE, even though it's not visible in North America. The Eclipse begins at 11:48am EDT, concludes at 4:52pm, with its greatest effect at 2:20pm. While the Moon's Last Aspect is Sextile to its ruler Uranus - an auspicious indication in itself - the Eclipse dampens this elevated evaluation to resolutions of actions initiated during this period. We should maintain heightened awareness and caution during this electric Uranus/Aquarian Full Moon Eclipse period because anything can happen now. In general, the theme of breaking down old traditional structures into unusual innovative, if not radical ideas which result in some form of Freedom is the Uranus/Aquarius realm. This Moon period also highlights community, friends, science, technology, objectivity and detachment. We can easily see how Revolution and Enlightenment also fit this archetype. There is a strong sense of willfulness which has the opportunity now to be esoterically expressed as the right use of will.

Projects tend to reach their climax now as we wax towards lunar fullness. Like all Full Moons, the Sun opposes the Moon (Leo Sun ☍ Aquarius Moon) indicating that The Masculine archetype is at odds with The Feminine now. Conscious intentional outward action opposes the unconscious, receptive and protective container. As in all opposition aspects, it behooves us to reconcile the two ends of the polarity by honoring both. The Leo/Aquarian opposition begs the question of how to be an individual in the community. The Leo Sun wants to creatively play/self-express with great enthusiasm while at solo center stage...and be acknowledged for it! The Aquarian Moon's attention is on being creative with others in a more detached and intellectual way. Compromise with intellectual play and acknowledge each and everyone. Trust your intuition now, expect the unexpected and remember the value of breakdown before breakthrough.

ECLIPSE NOTE: Eclipses come in pairs, two weeks apart - one at the New Moon (Solar) and the other at the Full Moon (Lunar); which eclipse happens first varies. The Lunar Eclipse symbolizes a time to let go of attributes or circumstances which no longer serve us while the Solar Eclipse represents a new beginning. Therefore, when the Lunar Eclipse occurs before the Solar Eclipse, as in this month's pair, we have the opportunity to clear out the old before starting a new chapter. Take advantage of this! Try a ritual!

Also, remember MERCURY GOES RETROGRADE on August 12, (don't forget the 3-day before and after rule of thumb) so this is a doubly important time to complete projects/communications/purchases during this Full Moon period.

AQUARIUS FULL MOON/PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE SCENE! One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, 1975; Director: Miloš Forman; Adapted by Bo Goldman from the novel by Ken Kesey. Many unexpected and beyond unusual dramatic breakdowns occur in this brilliant classic film before the ultimate Breakthrough to Freedom. Even the production had to overcome barrier after barrier for over a decade before producer Michael Douglas was able to achieve its commercial release. Jack Nicholson (Leo Ascendant) leads the cast as the totally Uranian character McMurphy, who incites the other 'inmates' in the psychiatric hospital to revolution. The almost indomitable but surely evil Nurse Ratched, played by the unforgettable Louise Fletcher, serves as his antagonist. Czech-born director Forman is, in fact, an Aquarian and his edgy films such as Hair, Amadeus and The People vs. Larry Flynt have garnered him many Academy and Golden Globe Awards - Cuckoo's Nest is one of the very few films to have won all five major Academy Awards in 1976. In this final scene, we witness the electrifying and pipe-bursting result of all McMurphy's efforts  - the escape of the original American prisoner, The Chief.
